Several years ago we went to Costasur and loved it. Since then, the Costasur has been renovated and it really looks good for a 3 star. The places are clean, well maintained. The staff is basic: do the minimum required, not very friendly, even with tips. Very few smiles. As there is the brand new Mélia right next door, it seems to me that those who are at Costasur are those who did not have the chance to be hired at Mélia, so are suffering their fate. The first two days, no hot water, then, no water, no electricity, we don't worry too much because it's Cuba and we know there are shortages. The BUFFET: every day, for 10 days, the same thing. Really !! in the morning, juice so stretched with water that it has no taste, small pancakes, eggs. For lunch and dinner, pork, eggs, pasta, 2 kinds of fruit (always the same), rice, bread, some fresh vegetables, sweet potatoes and squash. No variety. That’s It! I understand that it's a three star, so we don't expect a 5, but for the 12 years that we have been coming to Cuba, in 2.5, 3 and 3.5 star hotels, the latter were really superior in terms of food and staff. . There was also a big hygiene problem, because several of us, including the maid, had stomach upset! Coming back, no thanks!
