Just stayed at Melia and it was exactly how I imagined it. The staff was great and the property was quite well maintained, despite being an older property. A few minor upgrades to the rooms and the grounds could really change the experience at Melia. The food offered (1 buffet, 2 restaurants and 1 light snack bar) had options for everyone. The drink options were great and having a premium wristband through ******* was a plus. There were a few perks for guests who had the bands. The view from our room 1407 was beautiful and we could see the ocean from our door and balcony. Although I wasn’t traveling with children, there were lots of activities planned for kids. I visited the spa for 3 services which was excellent. The beach was clean and accessible. What I liked most about Melia was the small size and excellent service. You are only 7 from the PV airport making a $10USD cab ride very inexpensive. The hotel is located a short 4 minute walk from the marina so if you’re looking for excursions or a dinner out, there are lots of options. My Canadian friends, bring pesos to the resort as they don’t exchange money without a large fee and there is only one a** that dispenses USD. It was very easy to walk down to the pool in the am to select pool chairs. Loads of seating and you can usually have your pick as long as you’re there before 8 am. Overall a reasonably priced resort for good amenities and service. Great option for people who want an easy, fast trip to PV!

Has a disastrous check-in, however, the rest of trip made up for it. Very solid resort for the price & you can’t beat the amenities of the neighboring marina. Victor at the lobby bar is a saint, love him.

This property is extremely tired inside and out…check in is an ordeal…3tries to get room key to work…rooms booked not available…the food was bad …no hot water in room…long lines for any thing “all inclusive” the food was like a hospital cafeteria …or not as good…very mediocre at best…would never stay there again

Staff was exceptional, courteous, friendly and professional. Food was average. Our room was outdated and in poor location. I requested a different room and it was similar to the first room. We had to deal with strong sewer odor in bathroom because sewer was venting from the sink. We keep plunger closed when sink wasn't in use otherwise smell was overwhelming. Countertop and mirrors were old/damaged. Furniture/furnishings were outdated.

This resort was in an excellent location. From the airport and to the marina which had a great market on Thursdays. The restaurants and buffet at the resort were not great. If you have food allergies it is not a great resort for you. Lots of cross contamination of the food, i was sick three nights from this. The service at the buffet was horrible the limited number of staffing contributed to this problem. The swim up bar bartender did not understand english and had limited drink mixing knowledge.

This is my first time staying at an all-inclusive hotel in Puerto Vallarta, and I was pleasantly surprised on the quality of the staff, food, beverages and property. When arriving, we were immediately greeted by a staff member and checked-in. Yes, the facilities are a bit outdated, but this did not take away from our experience and wanting to come back again!

We like the location of the Melia and that the marina is a short walk away with restaurants and shops. The resort could use some updating. The shower in our bathroom was not working properly and the rooms could use some paint and renovations. The resort is very clean and the staff are very accommodating. The lounge area could use some newer and more attractive furniture plus some better entertainment at night. Also a couple more al a carte restaurants. The food at the buffet was good with a lot of variety. All u all a nice resort just needs a few updates.
