Summary – 2 stars NOT SUITABLE FOR ANYONE WITH MOBILITY ISSUES. A hotel that has everything it needs to be good, but sadly falls well short of expectations. It claims a five-star status but in reality, is closer to a lower three-star establishment. Appearance – 2 stars From the moment you drive through the gates the hotel gives the appearance of being scruffy and poorly maintained. Some of the issues are cosmetic, poor painting, worn out furniture, thatching on roofs falling apart, but others are more serious. Broken chairs, tables and sun beds with protruding sharp edges and nails. Damaged tiles around the pool area with sharp, exposed edges are very concerning. Facilities – 3 stars The reception area is large and airy, although the decoration is tired and in need of repair, and also gives access to the main dining room. Be warned that there is no elevator/lift from the reception area to the rest of the hotel which makes this hotel completely unsuitable for anyone who is incapable of ascending and descending the large staircase several times each day. The main pool area is large and well laid out and surrounded by attractive gardens. The pool bar is large but only one end is utilised, and choice is limited. Towels are provided and are a good size but a little faded for the most part. There are plenty of sun beds and parasols but beware of protruding splinters and nails. Be warned, the music is played at night club volumes and features mainly electronica and techno dance tracks. We did not use any of the other pools that the hotel has because they were too far from our room. There is a spa area close by that has an extensive range of trea**ents on offer, the staff will make sure you have all the information. There are also tennis courts, ice cream stands (paid for), shops, gift sellers and on the beach a supermarket, camel rides and a dive school. The beach is the best thing about the hotel and fronts a shallow lagoon leading to the reef. It is let down somewhat by the enormous quantities of cigarette butts but is generally ok. As with the pool area, be careful when using the sun beds, they are not well looked after. Access to the reef involves a bit of a walk along the beach to access the 300m long jetty which can get a bit crowded at times. Rooms – 1 or 3 stars If you are allocated one of the newly refurbished rooms, you will be ok (we were moved to 2151). Large, well equipped with tea and coffee facilities, air conditioning, fridge and TV. However, many of the 1st and 2nd floor rooms are yet to be refurbished. Take a look at the photos to see what our first room was like. Catering – 2 stars This hotel specialises in huge quantities of very low-quality, tasteless, bland food. Everything is clearly prepared using the cheapest ingredients and with the minimum of care. For 5 of our 7 days, we were the only British guests and so we can only conclude that the catering is arranged around the preferences of the mainly R

Amwaj Hotel is one of the most beautiful hotels, and I really feel very happy, it's true, and the people there are very courteous, respectful, and the staff is very nice, and the sea is very beautiful. We also enjoyed everything in the hotel, and it is truly one of the most beautiful trips to Sharm El Sheikh.

Good loking Hotel, the reception was not that good a few things went wrong, very nice room with a nice cleaning services, the food was not that special often cold servid. The bar tenders where very friendly and good the gave a good services. The pool is great but very windy, the life guard gave a great services, every morning they gave that extra effert and attention to us. The animation was good, nice animators.

When I came with family to spent my vacation, I met all of the facilities from the staff members, everything is organised and I met one of the motivated and generous animation team which is named DIga, a hyperactive and kindly person. I hope to come again to enjoy by all I see and did here, very nice hotel and nice place with staff members.

The hotel has an amazing private beach, the water is crystal clear. You can wade in and see some amazing sealife. Absolutely beautiful. The hotel has beautiful gazebos on the beach. It costs around £6 to hire one per day. Very, very well worth it!! The hotel grounds are beautiful and very well looked after. We booked a pool view room which was very modern and spacious. Only had 1 room card between 3 of us. Requested more but this was not an option. This was a little problematic in respect of our stay and we ended up getting locked out around 3 or 4 times during our 1 week stay. The food was a little boring, not a great deal of choice and it seemed pretty much the same most days. However, you can book either the Italian, seafood or BBQ restaurant which is onsite and included in the price. We booked the Italian and Seafood. The Italian was amazing. This is the only all-inclusive hotel we have stayed, and wine is not included. You either pay extra for wine or buy it yourself from the local shops. We did keep getting pestered quite a bit from reps based at the hotel selling excursions. They wouldn’t take no for an answer. They were very persistent. We did end up booking a fantastic boat/diving trip. It was fantastic and a great value for money. My daughter did the diving, which she loved. The only downside was she wanted to explore the ocean floor a little more but was asked to do several poses for the camera as there was a videographer at the bottom of ocean. We did purchase the video, which was lovely. The hotel has a beautiful "Afrian Bar'. An absolutely lovely bar with roof terrace. Unfortunately this bar was empy the whole time we we're here because you have to pay for the drinks here. Such a shame and a waste of a great space. In respect of the staff around 60-70 % were not very friendly. There was a few real 'gems' who were absolutely lovely! All in all a fabulous trip, especially for the price but the hotel really do need to make some changes to improve in certain areas.

The staff was amazing and helpful, a special thanks to Doaa and our cleaner Shaltout at 2142 - they were extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel worked out considerably cheap. The biggest issue we had is a small choice of all inclusive food
