The view from the room is indeed quite good, just as other reviews mentioned, though I’d say it’s good rather than breathtaking—for starters, the windows were quite dirty.
Location-wise, it is very close to the Shilaoren Beach Club and beach. However, if you plan to travel to the city center, it is quite far and takes about 20 to 30 minutes by taxi or public transit.
The front desk staff downstairs was extremely busy; when we arrived to check in, we had to wait over 20 minutes for someone to show up. The 1st-floor lobby is very chaotic, shared with many different entities and organizations squeezed together. The building composition and foot traffic are quite complex, with no seating area in the main lobby at all. On top of that, waiting for the elevators (in a 40+ story building) takes a long time. Also, food delivery drivers are not permitted to bring orders upstairs, so you have to walk down to the 1st-floor delivery lockers every time.
The room itself was acceptable in size, with fairly spacious living area and beds. However, the overall cleanliness left much to be desired. On our first day, we found quite a bit of dirt and stains on the countertops and floor. Although we asked the housekeeping staff to clean it again, it was only a basic surface sweep—more like routine home cleaning rather than the meticulous, thorough standard you would expect from a hotel.
The room facilities are relatively outdated: the TV connection was unstable, and the cabinet doors had poor tolerances and couldn't close properly. There was also a noticeable musty odor in the room, and a persistent urine smell in the bathroom.
Daily cleaning, water refills, and basic amenities were provided consistently, but towel supplies are strictly limited: only two bath towels and one floor towel per day. They are replaced daily, but if you request extra towels, staff cannot provide them until the next day. A washing machine is provided along with laundry detergent upon request, but there is nowhere to hang or dry clothes in the room—you can only hang them in a corner to let the air conditioning blow on them, which isn't truly breathable or effective. Furthermore, while there is an induction stove and microwave, no cookware, dinnerware, or knives are provided. Heating up food is fine, but actually cooking is inconvenient as you have to buy all utensils yourself, making the "kitchen" feature feel somewhat half-baked.
The butler service was friendly, but the team is severely understaffed—there seemed to be only one butler and a handful of housekeepers. They appeared extremely busy and were clearly trying their best, but their capacity is limited. I feel the issue isn't a lack of effort from the frontline staff, but rather poor overall management, inadequate maintenance, and a lack of systematic employee training behind the scenes. The staff don't seem properly supported either, which is tough on them.
Given the price point, it might be acceptable for what you pay. I would say it's fair value, but definitely not a great value. Calling this place a "serviced apartment" feels like a stretch because it lacks the level of maintenance and operational quality required. Unless you specifically require a kitchen space, I would not recommend this hotel—at this price range, there are plenty of much better choices available if a kitchen isn't a necessity.
