Lovely stay, Very relaxing, Lovely breakfast, Great big sized bed. To make use of your wide range of bikes (with lights!) was great. Few hundred meters from 6 passenger DiveShop is very convenient, too. Stayed 3 nights which was just perfect for us. 😎

The Coconut Lodge is a top ‘pension’ (bed and breakfast) in Rangiroa. What not to like?! - The size of the property with only 6 rooms, which makes the small hotel private and cozy. We felt like having the place almost just for us; yet we got to meet and dine with everyone. - The fantastic location with a lovely swimming spot right in front of the property (rare in Rangiroa) - The closeness to Tiputa village, 6 Passengers diving center and the Kia Ora hotel - The free bikes, kayaks and paddle boards - The beautiful rooms (we had a beach and a garden rooms) with air conditioning, super comfortable beds with mosquito nets, big windows and a fridge, as well as a great patio. - The friendly and professional staff. Audrey was a wonderful, kind and helpful host/manager We biked to go to lunch at Lilly in Tiputa, at Snack Rua near Avatoru, and at Kia Ora almost next door. We highly recommend Lilly and Snack Rua (specialized in lagoon fish - they also deliver for a small fee). We really enjoyed our 3 nights at the Coconut Lodge and would return in a heartbeat!

Ok, I will start off by taking some personal responsibility for this review up front. I did score this higher because I did this to myself by staying as long as we did. This is a 4 day stay kind of place max, not 10 days/9 nights, so this is part is my mistake. We had almost every room and guest turn over 3 times while we were there, so we knew we booked too long. That being said, I can honestly say we booked here because of the scuba diving. Diving 6 Passengers was right next door and easy to get to for a 7:30 dive. The rooms were good but could have used more housekeeping as our stay was very long and could have used a changing the sheets a couple times. WiFi does not work anywhere except up by the main office. There is absolutely no signal at all, ever, anywhere else on the grounds. Sometimes you would get a small blip of service of 1 bar for 30 seconds and that was about it so be prepared to stand up by the office with a group of people all trying to get a little service. The grounds are nice and well maintained and clean. Again, I reiterate we were here for Scuba Diving and expected what we got in terms of lodging, price, food, and water sports. We intentionally packed food so we could have breakfast each morning before our dives as the breakfast is the same every day and unimaginative. Bread, Coffee, Tea, juice, fruit, and yogurt. Keep this in mind as a Diver as you cannot live on this, and it never changes and after day 4 it’s really not fun. We ate dinner here a couple nights and it was good. A little high in price compared to what you got, but still very convenient to not have to leave after a long day of Diving. I like the cabana seating, however none of us liked sitting next to other guests while we ate. Being elbow to elbow breakfast and Dinner is very awkward especially when none of the groups understand each other so we sit there in silence most times nodding to each other and smiling. I did like that they opened the kitchen window and you could get wine at night with some great options that were very reasonably priced. Now for the hardest part of my Review…. I have to say the Managers are both very hard working and very nice and pleasant to speak with however we did feel very mislead about a lot of aspects. We started with Sophie on the first 4 days and would ask opinions of places to see or go or eat. We started feeling mislead by day 2 and stopped asking advice. She kept trying to direct us to areas to the right of the resort. She directed us to only go right and said multiple times there is nothing good if you go to the left past the airport. We asked about resorts, and she said no one would serve us because we were not guests of those hotels. Well, I can tell you everything she told us was completely wrong. The worst grocery store is to the right, the worst dining is to the right and every resort we went to served us with no problem whatsoever. The good dining and the good grocery store were all to the left past the airport.

As we all know, French Poly is eye wateringly expensive. When I was looking for a place to stay pre and post a yacht charter on far flung Rangiroa, I found Le Coconut Lodge to be fairly priced, compared to a couple of other properties and I would describe it as rustic. Location near the Ohutu Dock was also important. The bungalows were nice, spacious and clean, with air conditioning. The meals were simple but healthy and well portioned, bikes were available to use, and we also had the use of a kayak, an SUP, fins and snorkeling gear. We were picked up and dropped off at the airport and dock. The 2 managers Audrey and Sophie who work alternate weeks were excellent and accommodating. They also stored a cabin bag we didn’t need until we returned from the charter. The photo here is identical to one I took. The property is right on the beach and has a small coral reef adjacent to it with plenty of tropical fish. I recommend this property.

Thank you! Such a welcoming place. Loved the kayaks and paddle boards to explore the lagoon and the bikes to explore the atoll. Food was great too and in such an amazing setting. Highly recommend a stay here!

My husband and I stayed at Le Coconut for three nights in late December 2022. The room was super comfortable and the location was awesome. The location to the village is super convenient. Lodge provides bikes and it was super convenient to bike into the nearby village for lunch or dinner or just to get some exercise. The beach area was not very big was spacious enough for the guests staying there and the snorkeling off of the beach was great. Lodge had kayaks and SUPS. We took advantage of the stand up paddle boards and paddled passed the Kia Ora which was fun. We had an amazing Lobster dinner for New Years Eve which was delicious with lots of different type of food. Breakfast was very basic - toast/jam/limited fruit. Biggest plus was working with Audrey - concierge/guest relations. She was amazing by helping us make reservations for activities and dining but an incredible resource about other parts of French Polynesia. I have never met a hospitality person so attentive plus she was a super nice person. On a separate note, wish the hospitality community would help sponsor some spay/neuter clinics for the local dogs. Dogs are super friendly but hungry.

This was our last stop in French Polynesia, our 5th island. Very laid back and welcoming vibe. Nikola picked us up at the airport and showed us our accommodation, a comfy bungalow with an ocean view. Breakfast included, consisting of fresh bread, fruit, homemade jams and yogurt. Dinner extra (chef’s choice), usually fresh fish, always delicious, and dessert! Audrey was our breakfast hostess and very accommodating. She also booked a scooter for us so we toured Avatoru end to end. Bungalow was basic, but had everything we needed, shower was a plus, nice and big. Air conditioning was satisfactory, and patio area was perfect for quiet morning coffee, covered to protect from sun and rain. I picked Le Coconut based on reviews and proximity (2 minute walk on beach) to 6 Passengers dive shop (also recommended). It turned out to be a home run (coup m de circuit). Perfect place to chill for a few days while checking out some of the best diving in the world.

Nicholas was a fantastic manager and cook. There was a lively community feel, guests met each other over dinner outside, and the vibe was thoroughly fun and positive. Nicolas had a spirit of generosity, kindness, going out of his way to accommodate all requests, and generally going above and beyond. I would highly recommend the Coconut Lodge, and the food is outstanding. The setting is beautiful, romantic, relaxing, quiet, and has access to a fantastic lagoon, with lots of sports equipment for all to share. A truly beautiful and unique spot.
