Roinam Retreat

The resort Roinam retreat is a decent place to stay for a larger group. Pros: a. Resort arrangement b. Food c. Rooms cleanliness. Everyday it is cleant and our belongings are safe and secure. d. Front office (Miss Priya and team is very friendly and approachable) . We had a medical emergency one night and the front office team did not hesitate to help us to their best. They accompanied us to the nearby hospital - Hats-off Cons Location - its a bit interior and vey little access to any shops, but on the other hand it gives a very calm and near to nature a**osphere Food - We were veg group so not ***y options Breakfast - The menu is standard and repeats alternate days. No options at all Food area - Reception and food area is the same so felt very cramped. Power fluctuation - Although they have generator backup, during metered power the voltage falls low even the fan finds it difficult to run.

Booked for stay last night for triple occupancy, me and my parents 65 and 60 - reached around 7:40pm after a full day drive from Sighseeing in Cherrapunji to find out the cottage allotted to us C 3 is located at the top with a steep slope to climb. This wasn't mentioned anywhere while booking. The way up is so steep you will slip and fall if it's raining, all this when there is a ramp for vehicle to go until there but they won't allow. The rooms have bamboo flooring which has protruding nails, you will end up hurting yourself if you walk barefoot.Theh don't have yellow Dal only Chana dal which is absurd but i was okay wigh nkt orderkng dal. Dinner was delivered 30 minutes later than the promised time..only saving grace was the taste..it was good. They said breakfast will be available from 8:30 am we reached around 8:45 as my parents had to take their bp and sugar medicines bug we were made to wait for another 30 mins and then started coming 4 slices of toast for almost 10 people gathered. Only one item for eggeatarians - omplette and one for veg- watery Aloo Sabji and oily pooris. They will not even give jam if you ask for it. Not worth the money not worth the hype!

when we visited roinam retreat its swimming pool was not operational, and i booked this hotel only for the pool, otherwise it is far away from shillong nothing to do here, hotel run by bunch of untrained young kids, breakfast was very average , cottages are nice clean , costier in comparsion to the facilities . overall an average experience

What a lovely surprise to be in a lovely resort, built with nature loving and adventure sports themes. Its located near borapani. Great food, carrying,respectful staff, modern amenities, excellent view of the Umiam lake and super clean,hygienic. Will recommend all to choose the safari tent, if you want to feel the nature. Staffs are very much helpful and co operating, specially khem and bisnu, they are always available whenever needed. It was a great stay for us

It was a very relaxing experience. The location near the lake was mind blowing. The rooms were pretty nice as well. Somethings like food and power supply in resort could have been a bit better.The pool was also good and its one of the few hotels in Shillong to offer a pool.

This retreat nestled amidst a forest overlooking the Umiam Lake, is a gorgeous retreat. We stayed in a cottage and with its rustic look couple with a luxurious feel was one of the best retreats we have stayed in. Food was above average.

We stayed in glam tents in the resort. It is located amidst the forest hills on the opposite side of Umiam Lake. Room was very good. Staff are good too. The pool gives a wonderful view of the lake. Only area of improvement are options of food items and power supply.
