The hotel has a superior location, a good environment and is very safe. The hotel is very distinctive, with British classical style decoration and furnishings, and has a lot of cultural heritage. It is a must-see place for travel.

I stayed here purely because of the price and the relatively old-fashioned hotel.

很歐式,裝修風格有點古老的感覺。早餐非常nice。

It is nice to stay at a non-chain property. The decor is really charming, the staff is excellent. The breakfast is very good for a freebie - especially the fruit. We enjoyed dinner at Basso one night. Bed is very comfortable and the shower was so excellent - I wish my shower at home was like it. Two things I would suggest - replace or cover the glass pane on the bathroom door so the light is not intrusive if someone uses it at night. Add a charging outlet to both sides of the bed (We only saw it on one side - maybe we missed it). Our stay was excellent - the staff was friendly, helpful, and professional.

Once you get past the lobby, everything goes downhill. The elevator is terribly slow for only having 4 floors, and that's where you start to notice the dirt, wear & tear, and things that are obviously ignored by the property. Our room wasn't any better. Shoe scuff marks all over the the room door & bathroom door. Chunks missing from doors & framework. Carpet was nasty, wore our flip flops in the room all week. Dried up mystery substances all over. Dried drip marks on the bed frame. Outlets didn't work. Fridge upon request, which seems strange seeing how we haven't had to request a fridge in a hotel since 2009. Especially when we paid to upgrade our room. Our "garden view" was the backside of other buildings, an alley, and a space that has obviously been neglected for some time. Zero water pressure. Couldn't turn the faucet on all the way cause it hit the mirror. The worst part though, the bed & pillows. The bed caused my husband nothing back pain, and the trash pillows had me waking up with headaches every morning. We ended up with 7 pillows in an attempt to have any neck support at all. No luck. The whole place just felt run down and just kind of sad. We definitely didn't get our money's worth. Not even close. This was a one and done for us, for sure.

The overall upkeep and cleanliness is not great. The breakfast bar was ok but not as well stocked or organized as it used to be and the eggs were always cold. I stayed 4 nights.

Very nice room and a pleasant stay. There's not much within walking distance, but what there is, a restaurant, wine bar and art house movie theater, as well at Forest Park, are great. Breakfast left a bit to be desired. Could be healthier options. But would stay again.

Old, rustic English inn with great charm. Room was clean enough, though rather dark, and bed was comfortable. No refrigerator, which really is a must when traveling. Had to request one, which didn't arrive until the next day. The breakfast was exceptional for an American hotel. Fresh berries and other fruit, homemade berry coffee cake, real eggs, and many other wonderful choices. Ice water available all day to refill your water bottles. The tavern had excellent drinks and food. The large sitting area had a gentleman playing the piano. Very enjoyable. We walked to Forest Park and the free St. Louis Zoo inside the park. Only complaints are parking fee, and there was a tornado warning during the evening while we were in our room for the night and no one answered at the front desk. We weren't given any instructions as to what to do in case of such an emergency, which is probably common for the area. Luckily, the tornado disappeared before reaching St. Louis.

It was a lovely, British literature themed hotel with wonderful decor and amenities. Would highly recommend and stay again when in the St louis area.
