It’s a lovely boutique hotel located on the river walk in San Antonio. The rooms are excellent - everything from the comfortable bed to the stocked refrigerator to the daily water bottles provided to the spacious bathroom with separate spa tub and walk in shower.
We had dinner one evening in your restaurant and we were not especially impressed. The waiter was clearly ‘green’ and needed more training. It took an unusually long time for our dishes to arrive once we ordered. We asked our waiter why and did not get a logical answer. He said our order was waiting in line in the kitchen, whatever that meant. We sat on the patio instead of inside and our waiter did not check to see if we needed anything such as another drink, while we waited. For the level of the restaurant and price of the meals I would have expected better service.
***One a positive note, the female bartender made killer chocolate martinis.

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Mokara over the Christmas holiday. The staff, service and amenities were excellent. We spent Christmas Eve in the rooftop hot tub, overlooking the festively decorated San Antonio Riverwalk. The location is unmatched. Once you walk out of the hotel, you are literally on the Riverwalk only a short distance to many restaurants and stores. We also took advantage of the in-house spa services and enjoyed a couple's massage on one of our first days at the property. Overall the experience was outstanding. We plan on visiting San Antonio again soon, and we will undoubtedly be making accommodations at the Mokara.

They were able to decorate our room with all natural Christmas garland, wreaths and poinsettias so that our stay during the holidays felt like we were really celebrating Christmas!

Our stay was amazing. We had a balcony overlooking the riverwalk. The spa was perfect for a couple's massage. Food was very delicious and the staff were exceptional.

The staff is the best part of this hotel. Everyone was so warm, friendly, respectful and helpful. Great southern hospitality! Loved the room and beautiful bathroom. Bed was comfortable. Fitness facility was well-equipped. The spa was amazing. I very much enjoyed my stone massage and the relaxation room, as well as steam room. Room service was great. Loved everything. Had a wonderful stay! Would definitely stay here again when in San Antonio!

My wife and I enjoyed our 3 day stay. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The facilities were clean and our room was spacious and quiet. After telling the concierge that we were celebrating our anniversary, a complimentary bottle of bubbly and fresh fruits was delivered to our room. Nice touch. The hotel is conveniently located to the Alamo and all restaurants.

First off I just want to say that the hotel staff was extremely nice. Definitely great people but my experience at the hotel was very poor especially for the price. My last two nights I was woken up at 2am and 3am to what I believe homeless people banging on dumpsters and fighting. Maybe this was just because I was on a lower floor. I also had mold in my berries for breakfast they obviously are not washing the fruit at the restaurant. I got reimbursed for the breakfast but still accidentally ate some or the fruit thinking it was ok see the photo. When I explained the noise/ being woken up in the middle of the night situation there was just a sorry from the front desk and I left. Very nice people but they need to get a grip on security right outside the hotel at night and definitely clean the fruit properly. Wasn’t worth the price in my opinion.
