A magical stay in the heart of San Gimignano I cannot believe we actually stayed inside the historic town of Residenza d’Epoca Palazzo Buonaccorsi. It truly felt like stepping back in time. We booked this place in a rush and honestly didn’t read much about it beforehand. When we arrived in San Gimignano, we were completely stunned by the beauty of the stone buildings and cobbled streets. The entire area feels like a medieval movie scene. Check-in was officially until 8 pm, but we arrived around 8:30 pm. The owner was incredibly kind and waited for us patiently. She also explained very clearly where we could park the car, which is extremely helpful because driving and parking in historic towns can be tricky. The whole property is simply gorgeous. The courtyard is beautiful and full of character. Even though our unit was in the attic and required climbing some stairs, it was absolutely part of the charm and experience. There is no lift, but for us it was completely fine. The decoration throughout the property makes you feel like you are truly living inside history. Every corner reflects the heritage of this place. The location is fantastic — you can simply walk to the famous squares and restaurants of San Gimignano. It’s also only about 8 minutes away from the world-famous gelato shop, Gelateria Dondoli, which was a highlight of our visit! What surprised us the most was the size of the apartment. For the price, it is incredible value. The space is huge and includes a kitchen and a lovely attic area. This was truly one of our best stays in Italy, and it made our experience in San Gimignano even more special. If you want to experience the magic of living inside a medieval town, this place is unforgettable.

Very atmospheric and cozy stay at the medieval town of San Gimignano. Rooms are big and comfortable, very quiet, facing the interior courtyard. I slept very well. The hotel has a good location, very walkable to anywhere in the town. It also has a discount in local restaurant. No breakfast included.

This was a lovely place to stay and the owner and staff were extremely friendly, helpful, and welcoming. We loved the little parlor where you can enjoy a cup of tea before bed. There is a very nice patio to sit out on. When showering, the bathroom floor gets wet because there's just a drain in the floor with only a curtain separating the shower from the rest of the bathroom, but at least it was easy to get in and out of without having to climb into a slippery tub like some other places we stayed. This place has character, is clean, and we enjoyed it.

Wonderful, charming hotel right in the centre of San Gimignano. The hotel was quite and peaceful, and my wife and I enjoyed watching the swallows out the bedroom window in the morning. The hosts were very helpful with recommendations and travel planning

I usually like staying in hostels that are housed in renovated old townhouses. This time it was a disaster. There was no breakfast, despite it being advertised, with the excuse that the dining room where it is served “was too cold”, which in February is hardly surprising. They gave us a voucher with a “discount” for the bar on the corner. “Free parking available” was also a lie. These were council car parks, outside the city walls and very few in number, so they were always full. We used the council’s pay-and-display car park, 300 metres away, the nearest one. In other words, NO PARKING. Finally, the heating in the room we stayed in didn’t work. I spoke to the manager via WhatsApp countless times, and she always replied that he would ring. HE NEVER RANG. The room was 17 degrees and stayed that way. My wife fell ill. ABSURD. As the manager only ever complained about money, we reckon she was simply skimping on the heating, just as she was in the breakfast room. TERRIBLE. THE PALAZZO’S ADVERTISING DECEIVES CUSTOMERS.

I would highly recommend this property. The staff were very amazing.
