Sushi Select Hotel (Fuzhou Road, Shanghai People's Square)

I hesitated for a long time before choosing this hotel because of its very low review score. But in the end, I still went with it, figuring that as long as it's clean and hygienic, that's all that matters when you're on vacation; my expectations aren't that high. I never imagined such a terrible hotel could exist in a big city like Shanghai. Honestly, paying this price for a place like this is an absolute rip-off. The environment is poor, hygiene is bad, facilities are old and run-down, and there's absolutely no service. The front desk staff were indifferent and even lied, claiming it was newly renovated. It's truly an unbearable memory, nothing was good about it, and even the blankets were damp.

The rooms and hallways are a bit old, but the service was excellent. Our neighbors were incredibly noisy at night, and the staff immediately helped resolve the issue. Housekeeping was also very prompt. The location is great, not far from the subway station or People's Square. There are many snack options nearby, making it convenient for meals. It seems to be fully booked every day recently!

Maybe it's being renovated? This kind of environment for 200-300 a day...

Broken, messy, and awful. When I checked in, the floor was damaged, the faucet was leaking, some lights didn't work, the room was leaking water, the walls were moldy, and there was a thick layer of dust. The floor and table were completely covered in water, and I was afraid to use the outlets. I had to dry the floor myself, and the hotel still wouldn't take responsibility. It's not like a hotel at all, worse than even a guesthouse. Absolutely do not stay here. The hotel staff had a terrible attitude. And it's expensive (standard room 350-500), with no breakfast. I couldn't sleep a wink all night, and I was even afraid to shower. As soon as it was daylight, I checked out and moved to another hotel. I wouldn't stay here even if it were free. Terrible, terrible, terrible!
