It's incredibly close to the Oriental Pearl Tower, about 500m away, and right next to the Ocean Aquarium, all within walking distance. This is an older, well-established hotel, and while the facilities are a bit dated, the cleanliness is up to par. Shanghai Miller Villa Hotel Hotels in Shanghai

Shanghai Miller Villa Hotel

"I've known about Moller Villa Hotel for many years, and after not visiting Shanghai for nearly a decade, I finally got to stay there this time! Staying at the quiet and romantic Moller Villa, like a castle, allowed me to uniquely experience this corner of bustling Shanghai where history and fairy tales, East and West, blend into a dreamlike architectural masterpiece! I stayed for 2 nights in a delicate terrace room (first floor) and 2 nights in a business king room (second floor). Each had its own charm, both elegant and cozy. The breakfast selection was quite rich, and the environment was very refreshing. I'd especially like to commend two male receptionists. One tall, handsome young man (I forgot to ask his name) was particularly enthusiastic and helped me solve a problem! Xiao Guo also enthusiastically assisted me. Mr. Pan from the concierge department was incredibly helpful, checking maps for me, carrying my luggage, and waiting by the road for a taxi! In fact, service plays a huge role; even in the best environment, a cold expression can significantly detract from the experience! I hope the intern girl at the front desk cherishes this job!"

"Good location and convenient to fo to hotel. Hotel staff were very welcome and willing to support. I also was upgraded the room. The room was good but there was bit of dust that I still could see in the room. No restroom's door so that it was accepted for solo travellers or couple but for friend or colleague you need to consider. Overall, I love this hotel 🥰"

"The Jin Mao Tower itself is one of Lujiazui's iconic trio of buildings, and staying here offers direct views of the Huangpu River and the Oriental Pearl TV Tower – the vista is truly breathtaking! Our room was on the 74th floor, and seeing the Jin Mao's internal structure was also spectacular. The hotel's decor feels a bit dated, but the room size is generous, and the service was genuinely excellent. When we checked in, the lobby manager noticed we had a child and gave us a cute Milk Dragon plushie, which made my little sister so happy. Because our flight was late, I asked the lovely front desk staff, and even though the hotel was very busy, she still managed to arrange a late check-out for me, which I really appreciated. Breakfast was also quite good, with a mix of Chinese and Western options, though you might have to queue if you go too late, so it's better to go early. Oh, and I booked a group deal on Ctrip, which also included a few tickets to the insect museum – such great value! The twin beds were two 1.2-meter beds that could be pushed together, so there was plenty of space for a family of four. All in all, for a trip to Shanghai, staying here is really great and I'm very satisfied!"

"Many thanks to Lily for her great service and helping us with our room and luggage. She was always kind and helpful, and made our stay much smoother.

"My stay in Shanghai this time was incredibly satisfying; choosing the right accommodation truly made the entire trip much easier. The hotel boasts an unbeatable location right in the city center, making getting around incredibly convenient. With excellent transportation links all around, popular shopping districts and attractions are very close by. Whether it's for shopping, dining, or sightseeing, there's no need for long journeys, saving a lot of travel time—it's perfect for anyone visiting Shanghai. The most delightful surprise was the room's view. It offered a wide, clear panorama overlooking the Suzhou Creek. During the day, the river flows peacefully and serenely, exuding the soothing ambiance unique to urban waterways. As night falls, the lights along both banks gradually illuminate, with gentle light strips stretching along the river. The light reflections dance on the water, and as the evening breeze blows, the ripples shimmer softly, creating an incredible atmosphere. There's no need to brave crowded attractions; you can simply stay in your room and enjoy the ever-changing scenery of the Suzhou Creek, from day to night. After a busy day of sightseeing, gazing quietly at the river view outside the window feels as if the city's hustle and bustle are completely shut out. Your mind gradually calms, and fatigue melts away. This hotel's greatest highlights are its prime location coupled with the calming Suzhou Creek views. Having such a relaxing viewing experience in the city center is exceptionally rare. My overall stay was comfortable and pleasant, with no disappointments. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to enjoy city river views; it offers outstanding value for money. The next time I visit Shanghai, this hotel will definitely be my top choice again."

Getting Around Shanghai

Shanghai is a city with a huge flow of overseas tourists. If you’re flying, there are two main airports: Shanghai Pudong International Airport (PVG) and Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport (SHA). But most international flights land at Pudong Airport.

Shanghai Pudong International Airport is about 45 km from downtown and handles most international flights. In 2026, it’s busier than ever with expanded global connections. You can reach the city by metro, airport bus, or the Maglev train—fast and fun!

On the other hand, Shanghai Hongqiao airport is just 15 kilometers from the city center and mostly deals with domestic flights. You’ve got metro lines 2 and 10 to zip you straight to city.

Tips: If you're catching a red-eye flight, consider staying at one of these hotels that offer airport shuttle services to make your trip a breeze.
