The St. Regis Shanghai Jingan

After three years, this is my second stay at The St. Regis Shanghai Jingan. After looking around, I still believe its location is superb. Zhangyuan, HKRI Taikoo Hui, Plaza 66, and Jing An Kerry Centre are all within comfortable walking distance. When checking in, the front desk's 'welcome home' made me feel very warm. I was also lucky enough to get an upgrade, and they even provided a surprise cake and decorations for our anniversary – thank you, St. Regis. The room facilities are comprehensive. The only drawback is that the hairdryer hasn't been updated yet, but thankfully, I'm used to bringing my own. For breakfast, perhaps due to the National Day holiday, it was a bit chaotic with queues for seating and some food items not being replenished promptly. I managed to squeeze in a visit to the gym, which has a full range of equipment, including a dedicated yoga studio, and the cleanliness details were also quite good – a big thumbs up! The hotel maintains a traditional and elegant style. As someone born in the 80s, I appreciate the charm of the old-fashioned. The concierge team's gentlemen in traditional long gowns exude a handsome and refined 'Hai Pai' (Shanghai style) elegance – manual applause! 👍 The lobby bar still features live piano performances, which is a rare treat these days. Thumbs up for upholding this artistic sentiment! 👍

You can always count on The St. Regis Shanghai Jingan. Great location, lovely ambiance, and they even upgraded my booked junior suite to a large suite. Moreover, our butler, Coco, was extremely attentive and proactively offered to make us coffee. All in all, it was a thoroughly satisfying experience. I'll definitely be back!

Had a wonderful experience at The St. Regis Shanghai Jingan, and the location is super convenient for getting around. It was my first time experiencing the signature butler service! However, the overall furniture setup in the room could be improved—for instance, the lighting around the makeup mirror is inadequate, and the small coffee table in front of the daybed is too tiny to hold takeout for more than two people. All in all, I still really liked it.

Thanks to Max for the attentive assistance throughout our stay. Whether it was check-in inquiries or last-minute requests, solutions were provided efficiently. Five stars. This was my second stay here, and the experience was just as wonderful. My butler, Max, was polite and attentive, properly coordinating and handling all matters, big and small, and even provided a complimentary pressing service for my suit jacket and trousers 👍. On the evening of October 8th, the housekeeping attendant on the 58th floor provided fantastic turndown service—I forgot to ask her name, but when I mentioned I liked decaf coffee, she provided me with plenty of decaf coffee capsules and even came back to help me take away my empty takeout boxes. She was efficient and emotionally intelligent! 🌹

Torn between Shangri-La, The Puli, and The St. Regis Shanghai Jingan, I ultimately chose The St. Regis. I thought it would feel dated, but it completely exceeded my expectations. ALAN even treated us to some wine and helped arrange a late check-out.

I stayed at The St. Regis Shanghai Jingan twice on this trip. In between, I took a side trip to Wuxi, and the hotel kindly held onto my luggage and all my packages—the service was exceptional. The concierge delivered my parcels every day; a big thank you to Jeffrey from the concierge team for going above and beyond to help coordinate my deliveries. Very thoughtful! Butlers Lydia and Louis were also wonderfully attentive.
