I highly recommend the Gui Chen Qi She Homestay. The room was very modern including a sun roof, humidifier, bright, clean environment. The bed was super comfortable. The staff was excellent. They gave me a room based on all of my desires requested prior to my arrival. Because I arrived injured from hiking on the Tiger Leaping Gorge that day, the receptionist went out of his way to change the room to not be a duplex with 2 floors, since I was having trouble walking up stairs. In fact, I asked him to help search and find out where I could get a new pair of aluminum crutches. Within literally 2 minutes, he brought up a brand new crutch. I thanked him, but told him I need two of them, he went downstairs and came back up with a second brand new crutch. He said he got them next door. I asked him how much and he said it would be 100 Yuan (about $13). He provided me unbelievable service when I really needed it and he wouldn’t even accept a tip. I was able to walk less than a block on my crutches and find a wonderful restaurant to eat my dinner. The Gui Chen Qi She Homestay also provided free shuttle transportation to the Shangri La high-speed railway station. It was a fantastic one night stay.

This guesthouse is located within the ancient city, very close to the prayer wheel, and easily reachable on foot. The room was very clean, and the facilities were quite complete. The staff, a young man, provided excellent service; he greeted us proactively and helped with our luggage. The owner was also very easy to get along with, and the breakfast they made was delicious and to our taste. The environment is also great, with its own courtyard and parking lot. It's really excellent, we'll definitely stay here again next time we visit.
