Bayberry House Bed and Breakfast

This was a fantastic option for a quick business trip to the northern panhandle of WV. I chose a small room, which ended up being cheaper than the hotel options in Weirton, and much more personal. Although the room was small it was not lacking; with ample common areas and a sizable private bathroom I had more than enough space to enjoy my stay. The porch offered a lovely sitting area, and the neighborhood was joyful. Beautiful historic homes with small children and families playing together all down the block, it was a very welcoming area, and a pleasant walk to downtown. All in all, I would highly recommend Bayberry House!

My sister and I shared the W3 room for several nights. Scott had the king bed split for us into 2 single beds prior to our arrival. Thank you, Scott. It was pleasant to have coffee on the front porch each morning; The dining area was also pleasant to sit for breakfast. The room is small, which was expected since it's noted on the website. It's was quite comfortable for sleeping and showering. When we wanted to spend time chatting rather than sleeping, the living areas on the first floor were more appropriate & comfortable for sitting to socialize. On top of that, the pricing is much better than local hotels. Would book the Bayberry B&B again if in that area.

Though we stayed only one night, I absolutely loved visiting here! It was incredibly pleasant and private as well. Everything was very clean, beautiful, and well kept. Breakfast was optional in the morning and was lovely! Communication with the hosts was through text and very easy. They were very accommodating and willing to answer any questions we might've had too! Street parking was in front, and the stay was very intuitive. The hosts had all the information we needed about accessing the property readily available. I really appreciate the stay and would love to stay here again! It was definitely worth it! 10/10

Great quiet location. Home is a restored Victorian and meticulously maintained, tastefully appointed, with a wonderful porch to sit for a chat or watch passersby. Large dining room table seats 8 and is terrific for gathering- meals, conversation, games. Bedrooms upstairs each have their own small bathroom for privacy when multiple guests are staying. Bed was super comfortable for sleeping like a log. Walking distance to downtown and easy drive (or Uber) to FU campus. Scott is caring and welcoming- very responsive with excellent communication throughout.

My wife & I booked three nights on Valentine's Day weekend @ Bayberry's Garrett House property, and we were the only occupants for those nights while trying to protect ourselves from rain & freezing rain & snowfall. We took the opportunity to roam around the guest spaces, and were both very impressed by the Victorian-style architectural features & decor. We didn't see the owner Scott until we were finishing our final breakfast, but we had the time before departure to chat and learn more about the painstaking efforts of the original decorator (a good friend of Scott's since passed) to recreate the historical atmosphere of the lovely c. 1870 residence. Scott keeps the house clean with no clutter, maintaining elegance throughout with a comfort that made our stay a very memorable one. We stayed in Francesca's Suite (Room 1) at the top of the front stairs, beautifully furnished with unique period-appropriate pieces and plenty of room to walk around & relax in. The attached dressing room was an unexpected bonus, and the large ensuite with separate Jacuzzi tub & shower booth was very much appreciated. Each morning's serve-yourself breakfast offering (prepared daily) was unique & flavorful, with fresh high quality ingredients and enough volume to fill us up for each of our days of exploring the surrounding area. We would definitely return if we were visiting Eastern Ohio or Western PA, and we recommend the Garrett House for other travelers who would appreciate the property's history & decor while enjoying the modern comforts & tasty breakfasts.

My teens and I stayed in Bayberry House before Thanksgiving. We were picking up one student for Thanksgiving break at Franciscan University, and bringing one for a college visit. Because of everything going on, we made up our schedule as went. Scott was very accommodating and adapted to our needs in terms of arrival time, cots, numbers at breakfast, etc. He could not have been more obliging. The house in beautiful. We came home every night to a cozy home, and woke up to hot breakfast. It's just a mile or two from the University, so it's very convenient and competitively priced to the hotels in town (but so much nicer!).

The house was perfectly clean and well maintained. Staying there is a return to a time of elegance and comfort. We could not be happier.

The owner was incredibly kind and helpful, especially when we asked for dining recommendations. Breakfast each morning was a delight: fresh, delicious, and clearly made with care. It’s rare to find a place that feels both luxurious and homey, but this B&B strikes that perfect balance. We’re already planning our next visit. It’s officially our new favorite spot in Steubenville!
