They offered complimentary health-boosting congee, three professionally retouched photos, and a double breakfast. There's also electric cart service to and from the alley entrance. The service was attentive, and the room was cool and clean. The courtyard offers beautiful scenery; even on windy or rainy days, you can enjoy your own 'Suzhou garden' without having to brave the crowded tourist spots.

Staying in a Suzhou-style garden is a wonderful experience when visiting Suzhou. Chang Garden is small but exquisite, quiet and beautiful. All the buildings are connected by corridors, so you don't need an umbrella even if it rains, which is absolutely fantastic. Breakfast is semi-buffet style and not very Suzhou-authentic. If breakfast isn't included in the room rate, I think it's perfectly fine to just go to a nearby Suzhou noodle shop. The hotel is located in a small alley, making it very unsuitable for self-driving. Ride-sharing cars won't drive in either. If you have luggage, you can call the front desk in advance, and they'll send a golf cart to pick you up. The quality of the welcome fruit was good, and the Bulgari amenities were white tea-scented, which I also liked.

I chose Youxiong Changyuan over Kimpton because of the wonderful experience I had at Youxiong Hotel in Chaozhou Ancient City. However, my experience at Youxiong Changyuan in Suzhou was a huge disappointment. The shower area in the bathroom was tiny; even for someone like me who's 1.57m tall and under 100 pounds, it felt incredibly cramped. Plus, the glass door rattled loudly every time it was opened and water would spill out – anyone who's used it would know. And the mosquitoes were rampant! Shouldn't there be some mosquito control in the public garden area? All they offered was mosquito repellent, which did absolutely nothing. What was even worse was the next morning. The garden was beautiful after the rain, so I was taking photos on my way to another courtyard. I asked a staff member if I could look inside (making sure it was unoccupied), and she immediately gave me a sour look and snapped back, 'It's just one room, what's there to see?' Is that the quality of their service? Where's the pre-job training? On the positive side, I'd like to commend the golf cart driver, Mr. Wang, who was very kind and enthusiastic, and the auntie at the breakfast restaurant, who both showed the professionalism expected of quality hotel staff. Overall, Youxiong Changyuan in Suzhou, with its price tag of over 2000 yuan, which is more expensive than a five-star hotel, has interior décor that feels like a guesthouse worth only 700 yuan. Don't even mention Xie Ke to me; this is absolutely the worst hotel designed by Xie Ke that I've ever stayed in, bar none. The service isn't even as good as a typical guesthouse. Avoid this place. For this price, wouldn't staying at Kimpton be a much better experience?

Changyuan Youxiong – A long-desired hotel in Suzhou that truly lives up to its reputation! Upon check-in, we were greeted with a welcome fruit platter and Bvlgari toiletries. The service was professional and meticulous. The breakfast at the boathouse was outstanding, both in terms of food and service. Another highlight worth mentioning: The hotel's exclusive 'Jinghong Travel Photography' service was a fantastic experience with a high success rate for great photos. The photographer was very professional! 🫰

Booked this hotel for the Labor Day holiday and absolutely loved it! Despite the crowds outside, we had the beautiful, exclusive garden all to ourselves – perfect for photos. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the service was excellent, very attentive and accommodating. My family was really pleased with my choice, saying they'd definitely come back again.

Welcome fruit upon check-in: A really great variety. Minibar's first round: Sam's Club items, delicious drinks and snacks. Haha, it felt like staying in the mayor's house in the 21st century! It's the private residence of Wang Daotai from the late Qing Dynasty, and I absolutely loved the garden. This stay was incredibly good value for money and made me so happy.

Busy lives always need little moments of happiness to heal, and enjoying tea in Changyuan in the afternoon is that warmest color for me. Sitting in the garden with my cousin and his wife from Suzhou, sharing delicious pastries and chatting about fun things in life, laughter echoed in the air. The sun was just right, the breeze gentle, even time couldn't help but slow down. There's no hustle and bustle here, just a sense of peace and comfort, allowing my weary body and mind to relax and unwind for a while.

Five-star recommendation! My experience at Changyuan Hotel was fantastic. The environment was elegant and clean, the service was warm and attentive, and the location was also very convenient. My entire stay was comfortable and pleasant. I'll definitely choose this place again next time!

The service was excellent, and the hotel is right inside Changyuan Garden – it felt more like the garden encompassed the hotel! 😥 The breakfast was also quite refined. When I booked, I thought this was the only room type with a garden view, but it turns out they all do. So, I have a slight regret not booking a larger room. Everything else was great though.
