Roaders Hotel Zhonghua

A great place to stay in Taipei—close enough to Ximending for convenience, yet far enough to enjoy some peace and quiet away from the crowds. The hotel offers excellent amenities and plenty of thoughtful freebies. We especially appreciated the free use of the washing machine, as well as the snacks, drinks, movie area, and games at B1F. We booked the smallest room without a window, but it was still spacious enough for a couple. The bed was incredibly comfortable—we slept so well every night. Surprisingly, having no windows has its own perks! We also loved the strong water pressure, which my husband particularly enjoyed. It’s a bit of a walk to Taipei Main Station, but the route is filled with food spots and coffee shops, making the stroll enjoyable. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would definitely come back.

The staffs are so welcoming and even prepared a small gift for us upon knowing that it was our honeymoon trip. They have a reception lounge at B1 with free cup noodles, snacks, drinks etc which is very generous of them! The location is great with 3 massage shops right beside the hotel, and it is about a 5-7 min walk to the main xi men ding area. However, the soundproofing is quite bad (we could hear the water pipe sound very loudly and our neighbours talking in the corridor). Most importantly, the water pressure is very good and there is always hot water. The room is a bit cold during our stay in March as only air conditioning is available (no heater even though we raked the temperature up to 28 degrees it wouldn’t stay)

Pros: •excellent service: very attentive and friendly concierge. Concierge is very good in communication (English). Room service/clean up is efficient and quite fast (i.e we left morning and went back some time before noon and the room has been cleaned already). •great location: Just across ximending area. Very accessible since it's very near Ximen station (take exit 5) •room size and amenity: we got deluxe room, it's spacious for 2pax! Bathtub was a great addition, able to relax after long day activities. •unlimited "free" snacks available at B1/lobby and other activity areas (e.g arcade-like set up) •there are massage/foot reflexology establishments nearby! Can visit there anytime, and it closes quite late (2am). Cons: •toilet no bidet (but the toilet cleanliness compensates) •toothbrush/toothpaste not provided but it's not big deal as can easily purchase in nearby convenience store (family mart/7-11) •provide more visible signage outside •if returning to hotel late (i.e past midnight) do not forget to bring access card as the entry doorway to elevator lobby requires access card Would definitely book here again when visiting Taipei.

Perfect location with convenient store downstairs and walkable distance to train station and Ximen. The room is rather small but the bathroom is of fine size. There is a 24 hours common area for residents use, with unlimited free snacks, drinks and cup noodles provided. Movie channel is displayed all time with sofa provided. Luggage scale, photo booth, basketball game machine are all free for use at all times.

The hotel was in a great location close to Ximen station so it felt safe to walk to every night. Just cross the road and you can immediately get to the Ximen Shopping area, and there is a quick underground passage with shops that takes you right to the station. The hotel service was great as well with free food, beverage and entertainment provided in the lobby area. I was also able to check in early and was given a free room upgrade from a single bed to a double bed! Overall a really comfortable stay and I will definitely be booking again when I go to Taiwan!
