We had a really pleasant stay at Charming City Hotel Taipei (during the last week of February 2026).
From reading previous reviews, we expected the hotel to be a bit dated, so we didn’t come in expecting a modern or newly renovated space. Because of that, we truly appreciated its character — it really lives up to its name and has its own charm.
Breakfast was simple but more than sufficient. Instead of a buffet (which can often lead to food waste), breakfast was catered daily (during our stay) by MOS Burger, offering a variety of wraps and sandwiches along with sides such as dumplings, steamed buns, salad, coffee, tea, breads, and pastries. It was a thoughtful and satisfying approach.
The location is excellent — just minutes away from Xinyi Anhe Station, making it very convenient to get around. It’s also within walking distance to Taipei 101 and the Linjiang Night Markets.
We stayed in a Standard Twin Room and were happy with the room size. One surprising feature (for a more classic hotel) was the central switchboard used to control the lighting. That said, the shower water pressure was excellent (especially being on the 10th floor) — definitely a highlight.
We also appreciated the laundry and ironing facilities available for a small fee (just ask reception for change), which is very convenient for longer stays.
One of the best features — and what really adds to the hotel’s charm — is the 24/7 free snacks. There’s a great selection of chips, soft drinks, juices, and tea, which is perfect after a long day out.
The area itself is peaceful yet lively and convenient, with a 24-hour Carrefour supermarket, Watsons pharmacy and plenty of great places to eat within walking distance. With the MRT nearby, it’s easy to get to all the main spots around Taipei.
We would definitely stay here again and wish all the best to the team at Charming City Hotel!
