S&N Phoenix Villa Taizhou

I was upgraded to the executive floor. The environment is great and very new. Staff even deliver express mail and food delivery right to your door. Breakfast was also very rich and varied. I'll definitely come again next time! Full marks!

This stay was a vast improvement compared to my visit earlier this year. The resort is huge, and I stayed in Building 2, which has a fantastic location. With its front and back gardens, mountain-style architecture, wooden corridors, bridges, and lotus ponds with water plants, the scenery is truly delightful. Breakfast was very generous and featured local specialties; it was quite busy, but the ingredients were fresh. In the summer, the swimming pool gets crowded, but the gym is much quieter – I had the elliptical and rowing machine all to myself and worked up a good sweat! A minor drawback is that it's easy to get lost wandering around. Also, like other carpeted hotels, there's a slight musty smell in the common areas, but my room itself had no issues whatsoever.

I chose the Yuanshan Fenghuang Mountain Villa in Jiaojiang, which is right in the city center. The hotel upgraded us to the VIP building, where the room was slightly larger, but otherwise, there wasn't much difference. However, Jiaojiang itself doesn't offer a lot in terms of tourist attractions, so unless you're just passing through, I personally don't think it's necessary to specifically stay in Jiaojiang.

Hotel environment: It's quite nice, with many camphor trees planted, just like on the streets outside. It was the season when camphor flowers bloom, so walking around the hotel was quite pleasant. The greenery on the hotel's back hill was also well-maintained, and some cherry trees were still in bloom. Facilities: Average. The curtains were electrically controlled, but some parts needed replacement. The bedside outlets were very loose, and plugs would just fall out. Service: The hotel offered a free room upgrade and proactively gave us two key cards. The front desk staff and bellhops were very friendly. However, the room service response was poor. We needed a staff member to pick up our takeout. I called twice, and they said they'd handle it, but no one did from evening until check-out the next morning. Hygiene: Generally acceptable. A blind spot was a cooked prawn leg found on the window seat cushion.

I stayed here on a business trip, and the hotel service was excellent. They even offered a complimentary pick-up service from Taizhou Station. The hotel's restaurant was also great, serving authentic Taizhou cuisine! The breakfast buffet the next morning was very rich and varied.

Hidden away in the old town of Jiaojiang, this hotel offers a tranquil retreat from the bustling city. Stepping through the entrance, you're greeted by a magnificent classical Chinese garden, complete with white walls, black tiled roofs, winding paths, and elegant corridors, all beautifully complemented by lush greenery and flowing water. Every few steps reveal a picturesque scene, creating a sense of peaceful seclusion, much like a hidden paradise. The service, from airport pickup to check-in, was excellent. I would definitely choose to stay here again if I'm in the area for business.

The hotel is a 30-minute drive from Taizhou Airport. The public facilities are comprehensive, and I'd recommend staying in the VIP building. The breakfast offers a wide variety, and the local specialties are definitely worth trying. They also have business and dinner options. Overall, it's a good place.

I booked a room with a Chinese meal for two, which was great value for money and much better than when I booked a single room on my first visit.
