Hotel Metropole Taormina

There’s some issue with my check in and the hotel staff wanted to send me away to another hotel. At last, it was settled after several negotiation directly with the hotel and through trip.com. After all, still a pleasant hotel to stay.

In total, it was a good stay. The price 1150€ for 2 nights is insane though. I like that the pool is open 24/7 and there is a beautiful restaurant with a view. The property also offered an upgrade, which was nice. The rooms are white and cold, though. Also the rooms should be cleaned while the guests are having the breakfast, so they need to use the updated system for tracking that.

The most stunning hotel with views that take your breath away.. helpful staff and very comfy bed/pillows.. it is in a great location so easy to get around in Taormina.. breakfast was ok didn’t seem to get replenished as quick if you came down after 9am.. few wasps/flies but staff did have a zapper. Pool was lovely and nice to have a chill after lots of walking. For location and comfort and views this hotel is excellent !

Arrived on the 2nd of September and enjoyed every minute of the time we spent in the hotel. We arrived in the hotel reception and was greeted by the lovely Angelina, who made us so welcome and gave lots of information effortlessly. She had arranged some nice drinks for us that evening as we were there for a birthday celebration. She walked us to our lovely room and which was stunning, luckily we were also given a sea view room. Only disappointed was the fact we didn’t get the chance to say goodbye to her when left on the morning of 6th to thank her properly. Apologies for missing you, the Taxi picked us up pretty sharp. All of the reception staff were nice, helpful, friendly but professional. All the staff in the hotel were excellent, friendly, easy to talk to and helpful. The bar staff were great and made excellent cocktails with lovely Cicchetti sides which were very tasty. Breakfast was fantastic and the staff, were great and organised. The bed in the suite was comfortable and room was spotless and cleaned each day. The shower was spacious, with various shower heads and the Ortiga soaps smelt lovely, which can be bought at the shop on the Corso Umberto. The hotel is designed well with lovely art work and beautifully furnished. Location is the best, right on the Corso Umberto. The infinity pool views are spectacular. Will definitely return one day and wish all the staff all the best.

Do not bother! Me and my mum visited just so we could get a couple of drinks, was waiting for a good 15 minutes to then have to waiters totally walk past us and not acknowledge us in the slightest! Very very poor and wouldn’t waste your time coming here!

This is a typical Italian boutique hotel who only care to cash in and rip off customers during their summer months. They had no compassion for my situation where I had a family emergency but under no circumstances would they refund my money for the time i did not stay. I didn't realise this hotel is a charity, they are happy to take my money for a service they did not provide to me. Absolutely pathetic, no customer service, no compassion and no compromise. I was happy to forfeit 1 night accommodation but no this hotel was adamant to keep my full prepayment of almost Euro2000 for a service they did not provide. DO NOT STAY HERE, THEY ARE ONLY CONCERNED WITH PROFITING AND RIPPING OFF TOURISTS. SHAME ON YOU HOTEL METROPOLE, ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING!!!!!
