Banyan Tree Tengchong

The housekeeper Cassie Yang added WeChat in advance. Since there were 2 children and an elderly person, toiletries were prepared in advance! The room and hot spring water were very clean, and it was open 24 hours a day. Of course, there might be mosquitoes and wasps at night, so just be prepared! We had a twin bed, which was a little small for 5 people, but it was fine for my children and parents. The main thing was to soak in the hot spring, and the privacy was very good!

Because I believe in the quality of the world's top Banyan Tree Hotel brand, I have stayed in countless nights at the Banyan Tree Tengchong, Yunnan, with both good and bad nights. But my recent stay disappointed me. There are several reasons: 1) The hotel's rooms and facilities are old, as if they have never been maintained for many years, and there is not even the most basic projection screen, but the price is the most expensive Banyan Tree. The room is damp and dark, and the bathroom floor is very slippery when it gets wet, especially the joints between the wooden floor and the stone slabs, which can easily slip when you are not careful. At night, you can always hear the sound of the motor or the river outside, which makes it difficult to fall asleep; 2) Lack of humanized service, never considering late guests, the hotel does not provide midnight snack service, there is no food available in the restaurant at 22 o'clock, and because it is far from the city, takeaway is not delivered, so you can only starve; 3) The sanitation level of the hotel is worrying. There are spider webs on the pillars at the head of my bed, and spiders crawling and flying above my head. It is hard to imagine what other sanitary environments will be like. (But here I want to praise the front desk staff and the room staff. When I found the spider web and contacted the front desk, the young comrade immediately apologized and arranged for the room staff to come and clean it up, and did not shirk the problem.) It seems that the hotel's hygiene problems have really existed for a long time. International brand hotels cannot even meet the most basic hygiene standards. It is hard to praise. 4) I think the price-performance ratio is not high. The price of nearly 3,000 yuan a night even requires extra charges for breakfast and outdoor hot springs. Although breakfast is self-ordered, it always feels uncomfortable, which also reduces my good impression of Banyan Tree Tengchong. In short, I am very disappointed with it and will choose carefully in the future.

1. Poor hardware in guest rooms: As one of the most expensive Banyan Tree in China, the room is in stark contrast to expectations. The soft furnishings in the room are not compatible with the high-end hotels with an average price of 3,000+ for ordinary guest rooms. It is probably the lowest soft furnishings in domestic Banyan Tree. Although the room is covered with a strong spice smell, it still can't cover up the moisture. The quilt is a bit damp, and turning on the dehumidifier doesn't work. The room air conditioner is loud, which will affect people with light sleep. 2. There is only one Mingyue restaurant in the whole hotel, which is also the place for breakfast. However, half of the seats are soft sofas and half are hard benches (the experience of a fast food restaurant). Breakfast basically only has freshly ordered rice noodles, rice noodles, and wontons. The rest can be basically ignored. For a high-end resort hotel like Banyan Tree, it is really too much. The wild mushroom hot pot costs more than 1,000 yuan per serving. The hotel is too far away and there is no takeaway to order. It feels that it is not worth it to sell it at this price in such a fifth-tier small city. The InterContinental Kunming is only 388 per serving. 3. The second person's spa is 50% off. According to the previous guest's evaluation, one person is free and the other is half price. Now it has been changed to the original price for the first person and half price for the second person. 4. The housekeeping and butler service are really bad. There is no disinfection pool indoors. The stones that fell off in the indoor pool were not cleaned up and almost scratched my feet. After complaining, they said that it is normal for the facilities to age. As a well-known international brand, the normal service attitude should first admit its own fault and appease the guests' emotions before making a reasonable explanation and apology, but the attitude is extremely arrogant and blunt and unapologetic. In general, the trip to Banyan Tree Tengchong was a bit disappointing. It is expensive and relatively low in cost performance.

An unexpected surprise on Children's Day. I basked in the sunset and watched the mountain view in the hot spring pool in the room. The aromatherapy was natural and tranquil, very soothing. It was just right to enjoy the healing and rural wildness of the Banyan Tree Hot Spring House. Thank you very much for the meticulous and thoughtful service!

Overall, I am quite satisfied. I checked in after the May Day holiday. There were not many people and it was very quiet. Miss Linda at the front desk upgraded me to the Yuechun Hot Spring Room and personally introduced the facilities in the room. The breakfast was quite rich and tasty. The airport transfer, hot spring and other services included in the package were all in place. The only drawbacks: First, there was a problem with the TV signal in the room, which was not completely solved after the staff debugged it. Second, the mini bar lamp in the room was not on. Third, there were a lot of weeds in the hotel's pastoral area and it was not well maintained.

The hotel has an elegant environment and the service implements Banyan Tree's excellent attitude. This time Cassie Yang mainly served us. I would like to praise her full service follow-up from before departure to after check-out.
