This property is OK considering it is an old hotel that has been remodeled AND (maybe most importantly) there really aren't any other lodging options in this area. It is not close to a 4-star experience, but what choices do you have when staying in this area?

The Lajitas Resort was nice but overrated. The resort in itself has a very unique design and the location surrounded by the mountains is outstanding. Amazing sunset views. However, the rooms where we stayed and the pool are across the street from the main property. The rooms were spacious but the bathrooms were not up to par for the type of hotel that it is and the price. All the activities in the resort are additional. Not sure why they call themselves a resort. We did not golf but a lot of people go there for the golf. We went there because of the proximity to Big Bend. The food in the restaurants is not very varied and expensive for what it is. My son saw a mouse in the pool.

Our stay at the Calvary at the resort was less than adequate. The rooms were dark, overdue for a fresh coat of paint and an update to the furniture, contributing to a less-than-ideal accommodation experience. However, golfing experience was very enjoyable. We would return to play golf but will opt for alternative accommodations.

If you are going to Big Bend this property is convenient. We ate in the restaurant and it was very good with a nice view. We used the general store and there is a gas station… of which there are very few in the area. We didn’t golf or take advantage of the other offerings. The WiFi was good the beds were probably the reason I didn’t give it a very good , they are not horrible but a bit soft and lumpy.

Our journey revolved around indulging in the golfing experience at Lajitas Golf Resort. The course itself was impeccably maintained and boasted breathtaking beauty. The staff at the course went above and beyond to make our experience enjoyable.
However, our stay at the Calvary Inn within the resort left something to be desired. The rooms were overdue for a fresh coat of paint and an update to the furniture, contributing to a less-than-ideal accommodation experience. Additionally, the restaurant, like many across the country, faced staffing challenges, leading to a prolonged wait of two hours for our meal.
Despite this, we would certainly contemplate returning for the the golfing experience but we would opt for alternative accommodations.

Charming architecture and gorgeous setting. The beds were so uncomfortable—some of the worst we’ve experienced. The sink was in the cramped bedroom, not the spacious bathroom. The statue to confederate soldiers was in very poor taste. There was no water filling station on the property—instead they hand out bottled water, what a waste.

This property would be our #1 choice again if we came back to this area. We golfed, hiked, rode horse plus we ate at their bakery and their restaurant 3 times. Everything was above par. This place is a hidden gem!!!

Would be 5 stars but rooms though clean & comfortable are out of date & check in was laborious. Love the golf course, one of the best I’ve played!

Staff was amazing. We upgraded our room upon arrival and the upgraded room had some technical issues. The staff relocated us to another room without blinking an eye and walked us thru the room to ensure we were happy
