We really enjoyed our stay at Akumal and would recommend it to friends and family. The rooms are beginning to show their age but the grounds, food at the buffet and al a cart restaurants and entertainment were amazing. We loved the infinity pool and beach lounge chairs at the beach.

The adults only section with the infinity pool was very nice! Since you can access all 4 resorts, the dining options are endless. However, the resorts and buildings are very spread out, not realistic walkable distances. There are trolleys but sometimes you have to wait awhile to get the correct one. The entertainment staff was wonderful.

Villas are decrepit. Rooms are barely clean. We had to upgrade villas just to get decent air conditioning

I celebrate my birthday here at the resort and they did an amazing bday surprise and gave me a mini gift aswell. The place is beautiful and staff are amazing :)

This hotel does not remove and properly wash drinking glasses after use and in between guests stays. I smelled the coffee mug before pouring my water for tea, and it still smelled like coffee. This is a serious health hazard concern. The drinking glasses in the bathroom have fibers from bath towels. So does this mean the glasses are rinsed and towel dried by clean or previously used bath towel?
