Super quaint hotel. We stayed in a family room with 4 large adults. The pull out bed wasn't as comfortable as the main bed, but the overall experience was excellent. The decor is antique as you would expect for an older Victorian home of this era. The owner was super friendly and shared his experience purchasing the property many years ago. Great location for walking to city center. On-site parking was great, especially in the downtown area. Breakfast was simple but nice. Staff was warm and welcoming for anything you needed. Would definitely stay here again.

The hotel has beautiful, art deco style interiors and the lobby area has nice seating areas instead of just one large open hall. The room is spacious and the beds are super comfortable. The info about possible pillows could be more easily found. Delicious and varied breakfast with good options for special diets. The one big negative about a twin room is a transparent sliding glass door - especially a twin room that is possibly shared with friends should not have a door that offers zero privacy; there are large gaps and if the lights are on (especially at night when the room is dark and the bathroom has light on) you can see, hear and smell everything that happens in the bathroom. Note to reception; ask guests if they are comfortable with that level of intimacy before assigning a room, apparently there are rooms with traditional door - only learned that when we were leaving.

This is a no staff apartment hotel. The code for the door did not work. When the help desk finally got our code to work, the room was extremely cold and the bathroom smelled cat pee. Help desk gave us another room, but there was some fixing again to get the door code to work. The second room was a bit warmer and did not smell. But the air conditioning in both rooms was very loud, and in the second room it gave of a low frequency tone that crawled under the skin. The air con can be turned off, but then the room turns very cold. Not worth the money they charged. Also, you pay an extra fee for calling the help desk, which is a big minus in my view. The person answering the phone at the help desk on the on the other hand handled everything calmly and professionally.

We stayed one night before our Viking Glory cruise which was departing early in the morning. There is a couple of minutes walk to bus 1 that takes you to the harbor. This time we made the booking with my partner's name because he will get the senior discount with the code SENIOR on the hotel's webpage. The price was just 115 euros for a Superior room. We booked a Superior Twin room because they are more spacious than Superior King rooms. However, the price is the same. We were lucky to get again the only Superior Twin room facing to the market place which is still in construction but no noise could be heard. The breakfast was pleasant with a very calm atmosphere at 6:45. The food selection was wide.
Scandic Plaza Turku

Plaza has an excellent location, the whole city center is reachable by foot and all main sights are within walking distance. Friendly staff and good service. Room size is reasonable, good beds but bathrooms are badly out of date. The shower corner is so small that an average size person has difficulties to get in. After having a shower the whole bathroon floor is flooding with water and needs to be dried before anyone else can step in. Excellent breakfast.
