This is a charming hotel in a quaint little town away from the high prices on the coast, but only a short drive to Bodega Bay. The rooms was spotlessly cleaned and the furnishings simple. The bedding was high quality, the room had a space heater and central air/heat, delicious coffee (maker) with cream and sugar handy, the daily NYTimes right outside the room. The restaurant (Rockefeller Oysters) was also excellent serving "southern cuisine with a California twist." An apt description since they had excellent salads. The cute Valley Ford Creamery is right across the street and produce award-winning cheeses.

Booked this location several months ago for September of 2024 and received a confirmation via email. Received a cancellation notice via email this week and called hotel to inquire why my reservation was cancelled. The clerk told me she would investigate and call me back. She never did, and no one will answer my calls or emails now. I have been painstakingly planning out a road trip for my husband and myself and thought I had it all worked out until now. Very disappointed in their lack of professionalism.

Hotel was a challenge to find, since there was no internet or GPS service on Route 1. But, room was GREAT! Very clean! Quaint “Mom&Pop” Hotel! Would definitely stay here again.

We had a delicious dinner at the restaurant and then headed upstairs to our nice clean room. Our room faced the road so I was surprised how quiet it was. The bed was comfy, the room well appointed, and the amenities were great. We loved our visit to the cheese store for a scone and coffee. We tasted the cheese and ended up buying some to take home. I’m looking forward to staying there again!

We loved staying here and took advantage of the restaurant and bar downstairs for evenings and the cheese store across street for our morning cappuccinos.

To say I was very disappointed with our stay is an understatement. I am astounded the reviews were as good as they were. The only positive thing I can say was the hairdryer was good. The room needed updating in every way imaginable. Even upgrading small things like a decent showerhead (it was clogged) or repairing the floor in the bathroom. I am 5' 5" and had to bend in the shower. The room was stuffy in October. There was an overhead fan. There was no air conditioning nor could windows be opened. It's right on Highway 1 and our rooms faced it so noisy. It was a small room. My husband and I rolled to the middle of the bed. There was no TV. The coffee was instant. Our rooms were overpriced for what we got; we stayed in a room in San Francisco (with free parking) that was not much more but so much better in every way possible. Splurge on the more expensive rooms up the road in Bodega Bay.

Check in was easy. The restaurant downstairs was noisy until almost 10. The refrigerator in the room made annoying whooshing sounds when it was running but we had stuff in there so I couldn’t unplug it. Overall not the most pleasant stay we’ve had over the last 3 weeks in motels.

Bed was comfortable, lightbulb was out by the bed, not a biggie, and the noise from the trucks outside was Loud. Easy to find, parking was good and could definitely smell the nearby cow pastures.
