The room was nothing short of amazing! Everything was so nice and clean! The room had everything you could possible want and the tvs welcomed me by name! How cool?! Emily at the front desk was such a joy to talk to and accommodating in every way! 10 out of 10 would recommend time and time again!

This place is horrible. DO NOT STAY HERE. Zero service from staff, waited for about 7 minutes with no one at the front desk. The staff is less than accommodating and their customer service is awful to say the least. I tried to give the benefit of the doubt but can’t any longer. They charged the wrong credit card after I signed a form specifically stating payment, caused a massive amount of problems and they refuse to do anything about it and will not respond to attempts to contact them. Just unacceptable.

I travel to the area 10-12 timed annually for business. I decided to stray from my norm and stay here at the Home2. Mistake! To start with although fairly new the exterior windows are filthy, not a good first impression right? I checked in and the lady at the desk was nice. The room itself was small even though they call it a king suite. All the surfaces looked to be less than clean and the stainless surfaces looked as if they had been wiped down with a dirty rag. The toilet had not been cleaned and the shower had soap scum all over it. I reported the issues when I returned the next day. When I returned they did come in and make the bed. But failed to wipe and clean anything and to too it off didn’t leave clean towels. This hotel is more costly than the Holiday Inn I normally stay at without issue and I will never make this mistake again. I plan to contact Hilton Corporate and file a complaint.

Lobby area upon check-in seemed nice enough but when we got to our rooms on the 4th floor, the hallway/general area AC was broken and the temperature was in excess of 90 degrees. That lasted the entire stay! We had only been checked in approx. one hour when the fire alarm went off for a solid 20 min. and no one seemed to know why. Someone suggested it could've been a water overflow issue. Nothing was ever confirmed. The general area trash cans weren't emptied the entire stay. Trash was overflowing on every floor. The bathrooms in the four rooms I had access to via family all had pink mold/gunk in the showers and around the toilet area. Towels were rationed. Each room had two! Yes, you can ask for more but who would only use two bath towels for an entire weekend. When calling Housekeeping for additional, no one answered. You had to physically go to the front desk and request more. Not a deal breaker but annoying when you just want to grab a shower but have to stop and go get towels that should be provided from the beginning. Breakfast was served in the lobby and could've been sufficient but the pastries were stale and the coffee ran out and wasn't replaced, after telling staff, for at least 20 minutes. When you know you're at capacity bc of a wedding block, management should be prepared. Hilton used to provide top-notch service, but unfortunately, at least at this location, their standards are not the same. We have no way of knowing, since we didn't visit, but in hindsight we think the Holiday Inn Express may have been a better choice. Again, so few choices in Vidalia so you may have to stay here but I'd check out the other options first, if possible.

I stayed a total of about three weeks over two bookings in September. I was surprised at the condition of the hotel given that it’s so new that it doesn’t even appear on Google Maps’ satellite view. The drywall in ceiling in the first room I stayed in was separating at the seam. Also, the microwave had some sort of grease on the door from a previous guest. The hallway outside the room had ceiling damage and crumbled drywall on the carpet that was there the whole week, which indicates the hallway went several days without being cleaned. I don’t know how they could miss it. The second room I stayed in had an issue with the floor lamp. It had come apart, but instead of fixing it, it was unplugged and leaning against the wall. I was able to repair it, though. The room also had some very pronounced stains on the carpet like someone had vomited on them. Aside from that, the breakfast isn’t bad, but the coffee is disgusting. It is so weak that they basically ruined water and coffee in the making of it. Thank goodness for Starbucks instant coffee from Walmart right around the corner. I travel to Vidalia often for work and usually stay at another nearby hotel but decided to try this place since it’s new. I will not be staying at this Home2 next time unless I see new reviews indicating they’ve turned things around.
