Lobby area upon check-in seemed nice enough but when we got to our rooms on the 4th floor, the hallway/general area AC was broken and the temperature was in excess of 90 degrees. That lasted the entire stay! We had only been checked in approx. one hour when the fire alarm went off for a solid 20 min. and no one seemed to know why. Someone suggested it could've been a water overflow issue. Nothing was ever confirmed. The general area trash cans weren't emptied the entire stay. Trash was overflowing on every floor. The bathrooms in the four rooms I had access to via family all had pink mold/gunk in the showers and around the toilet area. Towels were rationed. Each room had two! Yes, you can ask for more but who would only use two bath towels for an entire weekend. When calling Housekeeping for additional, no one answered. You had to physically go to the front desk and request more. Not a deal breaker but annoying when you just want to grab a shower but have to stop and go get towels that should be provided from the beginning. Breakfast was served in the lobby and could've been sufficient but the pastries were stale and the coffee ran out and wasn't replaced, after telling staff, for at least 20 minutes. When you know you're at capacity bc of a wedding block, management should be prepared. Hilton used to provide top-notch service, but unfortunately, at least at this location, their standards are not the same. We have no way of knowing, since we didn't visit, but in hindsight we think the Holiday Inn Express may have been a better choice. Again, so few choices in Vidalia so you may have to stay here but I'd check out the other options first, if possible.
