Hotel Gilbert

Vienna City Centre Vienna|0.01km from Street Art Passage
We stayed a few nights, here are our thoughts: Pros: The hotel is in a good location. Just 3 mins walking distance to the metro, close to the shopping street and museums. When we arrived, we were offered a free glass of wine with some snacks, which was a nice gesture. The room was clean and comfortable. The toiletries (shampoo, shower gel & body lotion) smelt and felt luxurious. Breakfast is really great, the selection is not too big, however the quality is there. Personally, I loved it! There is also freshly squeezed orange juice and sparkling wine. The atmosphere in the dining area is amazing. Lots of plants and thoughtful decorations, with a fountain and bird noises running in the background. Staff is always friendly and polite. There is an outside seating area which is cozy. The hotel offers a gym, which looks sophisticated and a sauna. I tried out the sauna, it’s simple but met expectations and was pleasant. There is a private changing room and a shower too. Cons: The biggest problem for us, was how much we could hear through the walls & ceiling of our room. We could hear water running, people talking, the footsteps above us and even the TV of others. Sometimes we woke up with someone shutting a door, it would shake the whole room. One night I even had to wear earplugs. Service at breakfast is good depending on the waiter. Some are efficient but others are very very slow. We once had to get up to look for a waiter, to ask for a coffee. Breakfast has little fruit available, there was only orange and grapefruit. The hotel does not offer hair conditioner and when I asked at reception for some, they unfortunately couldn’t help me out (even though they sell some in their shop). Lastly it was a pity that sugar was served in lots of tiny packets instead of a jar, for example. It’s a detail the hotel could consider since they are trying to be as green as possible. :)

Jazz In The City Hotel 28 February - 2 March 2023 Room 500 5 stars for its cleanliness and service! Location: We took the Vienna Airport Cab from the airport to the hotel. We paid Euro 37 (one way). It was very convenient. It took about 30 minutes. The driver drove carefully and was on time to fetch us at the airport. The hotel is accessible to the underground and shopping area. Reception: Excellent and very helpful! We were able to check in early and the room was already ready when we arrived. Room: Modern, fresh and very clean indeed! The bedsheets, pillow covers, towels and bed were all immaculately clean and dust free. It has all the amenities that you need. Our room was located in a quiet area. Bathroom/Toilet: Very clean indeed! Breakfast: Excellent breakfast! You can order sunny side up or omelette which is freshly cooked. Very clean and fresh breakfast area. Check out: Fast and effective! Recommendation: Why not paint the ceiling of the room white and paint the water pipes black? It will give a smooth, clean and fresh feel. Overall recommendation: Highly recommended:
