While the front desk and breakfast staff were truly excellent, this is not a good property. Housekeeping/maintenance are very poor. The carpet needs a deep clean and the exhaust vent in the shower was coated in gunk. Plus, the housekeeping staff seemed to be more interested in finishing their work quickly instead of well (i.e., one day a supervisor kept roaming the hall talking loudly on the phone/radio early in the morning seemingly to wake guests up and another day our room wasn’t cleaned because the staff claimed we had a privacy tag on our door when we did not). The food selection at breakfast was fairly limited each day (with pretty bad scrambled eggs) but the drink station was well stocked. We have not had good luck with the RI chain as a whole lately but this one was particularly bad.

The beds were comfortable the pillows were very soft but not my style however they were great the Jacuzzi has no jets working. We stayed one night and have stayed here before. Pros: Checkin, Checkout and breakfast-all good. Room quiet, everything worked, comfortable. Cons: We found a live roach in the morning on the chest of drawers. We got a call from the front desk manager at 1 am waking us up. He asked: ”Do you have any animals in the room? I said No. He almost acted like he didnt quite believe us but said ”sorry for calling so late”. REALLY? Honestly, I have been traveling for 30+ years and have never had this happen. Here's what you do: You get off your a$$ and walk the floors until you hear the noisy animals and you knock on the door or call the room. You dont start calling people's rooms. We heard nothing so I cant imagine where the noisy animals were. Pretty much ruined our stay and our sleep.

We ended up at the Daytona Grande after the Hilton Oceanfront overbooked and we were on our way with no place to stay! Admittedly not the safest, but I had to book this place while driving from the Orlando airport and just looking for something that wasn’t a total dive but still decently priced without a ton of extra fees. No free breakfast here which is something I especially appreciate as a family of 6, but in this case it was just me and my teenage son in town for an archery championship. After the highly stressful day of travel we had, the Grande was like a little slice of Heaven! It was clean, quiet, and beautiful. We decided after having to skip lunch with flight delays and all that, we just wanted a good meal and a good bed and we got exactly that. My son and I split truffle fries to start, the crusted crab filet, and beignets for dessert. All were wonderful (and we’re from Dallas where there is no shortage of excellent food) and enjoyed Oceanside on the dimly lit quiet patio. My only criticism is that the tables should be turned perpendicularly to the ocean and hotel so that everyone at the table gets a view of both rather than one facing a wall while the other faces the ocean.
Rooms were nicely decorated, had comfortable, intuitive lighting, handy USB plugs, and most importantly REALLY COMFORTABLE BEDS! We have a Tempurpedic at home so my sleep is usually pretty abysmal at hotels. Now, this wasn’t as comfy as home, but I slept hard and woke without being sore since the bed was genuinely comfortable.
My only complaints about the room were that the window sheers, while stylish, really gave no privacy at all, so if you wanted privacy you had to sacrifice light. Water pressure wasn’t great and the bathroom needed more towel bars and hooks. This would’ve been way more of a nuisance with the whole family, but they also came midday and restocked towels and made up the beds, which we see less and less of these days, even at nice hotels in the name of being “green”. But it was spacious and clean and otherwise nicely equipped.
Elevators were fast and never held us up. Beach access from the elevator was nice as we didn’t have to walk through the lobby in swimsuits. Parking was slightly inconvenient being caddy corner across the street, but not bad at all. We considered but didn’t try room service mainly due to price and unknown wait (when we had tournament times to consider) but the little shop/cafe in the lobby was great and convenient and priced about as you’d expect (pricey, but not too ridiculous). We got coffee and breakfast sandwiches both days.
I think the biggest issue with this place is the visibility. It’s tall to be sure so you’re not going to miss it, but the entrance and signage is on the far side and behind a little aqua building (I think called Sand Dunes) which had to be apartments or a teeny hotel that I can only assume refused to sell to the Grande in development so the Grande built around it. It keeps it from having the opulent entrance that the Hilton does

Very Good
Location was good. Right on the beach and easy access to stores, restaurants, etc. We had a ground floor unit facing the ocean. R. 104, I think. The key lock box was rusted and corroded and partially hanging off the wall. It was difficult to open. The towels were filthy! I had to wash the kitchen utensils I used after requesting a clean sponge. The sponge provided was grungy and fit for the trash. I wanted to use their drip coffee maker instead of the Keurig….bad idea because it was gross with dirt and residual coffee grinds. Even the Keurig coffee cups, looked old, the foil lids were frayed and dusty/dirty. The oceanside door to our room was rusted, and that area was dark at night. No outside lighting when exiting to the parking lot via the oceanside door. Some of the electrical outlets inside were missing outlet covers and other outlets were overloaded with cords belonging to the unit. Even though staff was remote and a phone call away, I would not choose this hotel again. Sometimes staff were onsite working making it easy to get some replacement items. I know salt water can cause damage to finishes, however, a fresh coat of paint and an extensive cleaning, followed up with thorough cleanings and routine maintenance would work wonders for this place.
We booked the motel for three nights. At first we encountered an unclear online registration form and after registration it was not clear whether we would get the door lock codes into that system. It turns out that it was necessary to call, but it was difficult to get in touch because we did not have a local connection. The room looked normal at first, but the bedding was very wet, it felt like you're sleeping in a puddle. While searching the hair dryer, I saw a huge beetle in the bathroom drawer, it looked like a cockroach, but maybe it's another local insect. I realized that we can't stay there and immediately contacted the host, who told her to write to her via whatsapp at any time. We immediately booked another hotel. In the morning we found another huge bug in the sink. I couldn't sleep all night, both because of the humidity and because of those other guests in the room. We moved out the next morning after spending one night out of three. Unfortunately, the host did not read the message that day or the following days. Didn't respond to messages in the *********** system either, so we contacted *********** customer service. They took great care of us throughout the process. I tried to call the host one more time, during the conversation she did not apologize for our experience, she said that they had never had such complaints, that the insects might have appeared after the storm. But we found them in a drawer, so why doesn't anyone tidy up the room before the guests arrive? Then the general cleanliness of the room, which is so well regarded in their property, can also be questioned. She promised to come back within 24 hours and talk to the owners about compensation, but already during the conversation she said that they probably won't compensate anything. We only asked for a refund for the two days we didn't spend there. She didn't call back, didn't reply to messages or even read them. Two weeks later, we received a reply from *********** customer service that negotiations with the motel had failed and they offered a small compensation for our experience, which they would return to booking.com's virtual wallet. This is my first such disappointment, when you can't come to an agreement with a person and the property does not care at all about the guests' experience or communication. We were really patient and polite with them, however, I must share this experience with future guests.
HHenryThe location is perfect because it’s in super close walking distance to iHop, Winn Dixie, and 7Eleven. The beach was absolutely beautiful of course. Upon checking in I found the woman who checked us in to be less than pleasant, but maybe she was having a bad day—Honestly that’s not an excuse, but whatever it is what it is, we got checked in. Make sure you only bring 1 vehicle per car because they’re very strict on that rule. The parking lot is ridiculously small, but we made it work. The room was updated and though it wasn’t stated on the room description that it had a stove, it did have two flat surface burners on the counter which was great. The children’s room has no door, so if that bothers you bring a sheet. The bathroom needed to be cleaned better because the toilet was unclean especially on the outside around the bottom. The balcony is nice and big which I liked, but I would’ve liked it better had when I asked for an upper level they put me above level 2. The pools are nice, the outdoor pool is smaller than the indoor pool. The amenities are alright, they’ve got cornhole, golf, shuffleboard (all that I noticed). The bathrooms outside is nice and convenient because they’re close to the pools / patios. Would I book another room here— yeah I suppose. Oh, the Tiki bar has some nice affordable drinks as well— I’m not sure about the food though.
KKaitlyn F9/6/24-9/7/24 The first impression of this hotel was the front desk staff when I walked in. No emotion, no ”Hello” very cold and not helpful whatsoever. I had to approach and ask to be checked in. The first room they gave us... there was mold all over the ceiling - a random odd hole in the ceiling above the bathtub surrounded by black growing mold. The carpet was wet all throughout the room. There was dust CAKED up on the A/C grate and the whole room wreaked of mold and humidity to the point it was hard to breathe. I went back down and ran into a maintenance man in the elevator - who was very helpful and nice (the only reason I gave a 4 for the staff and not a 1) He took me to the front desk and demanded them to give me a different room - as the man that was cold to begin with whispered to the maintenance gentleman asking him if he could go clean one of the rooms as ”we don't have anyone else to do it”.. And didn't say anything to me just slammed a card on the desk and the maintenance man spoke for him and apologized and took me up to the other room to check it out. It was better, but still... the carpets were wet, the room was musty and smelled like mold, just a little less and somewhat bearable than the first room. The mold on the ceilings were covered with white paint, and we were only staying one night - was already 5 o clock and had to get my kids dinner so I said this one is at least better than the first, its fine. But, let me tell you... It was so hard to breathe in there at night, we had to go out on the balcony in the middle of the night from waking up from the humidity. We finally just left the balcony door open so we could breathe. And finally.... the next day, we requested a late check out. I called the front desk and spoke to a women 9/7/24 at around 8am... she said they could give me until 1:30pm without having to charge me. Around 11:30am that same women called up to the room while my kids were taking their nap to ask if we wanted to extend our stay because we had not checked out yet. My husband said no.... you gave us late check out. She proceeded to argue with my husband and told him that they don't even offer late check out and we had to be out by 12 if we didn't want to be charged for another night. I went down to the desk after that and spoke with whom appeared to be a manager and said the women told us we could have until 1:30, after some back and forth of the previous conversation from that morning, he said that is okay we can have until 1:30.. House keeping came twice from 11:45 - 1:15 to see when we were leaving, we had to tell her they gave us until 1:30, she said they didnt tell her that. They also turned the keys off at 11 so I had to have my husband let me back in the room.. while checking out, I told the manager that maintenance gave us breakfast cards and to take the breakfast rate which I selected off my bill. After some back and forth about that - he finally found that he was able to remove the breakfast rate. I a
GGuest UserLocation was perfect for what we needed. The pool was nice and access to the beach was perfect. The staff was less than inviting and some were just rude. The rooms were good sized but HOT. Needed to buy a fan to sleep. The AC units do not work as they should. The fan in the bathroom does not do it’s job. Had to shower with the door open to breath. The doors do not seal thus allowing even more hot air into an already hot room. If my room had not been prepaid I would of left after the first night. We were miserable trying to sleep. This LqQuinta does NOT live up to the many I have stayed in over the years. Very Disappointed!
Took a trip during spring break, my bad. Looking for a place to spend 2 nights ocean front that would not cost an arm and a leg. Happened to mention this while at a local shop/store and the lady at the establishment suggested we try Chateau Mar Beach Resort. So glad we did. We had an ocean front room for under $80 a night. As I mentioned earlier we were at the beach during spring break so yes, it was loud at night but when we turned on the fan it helped to drowned out the noise and we slept. The bed was comfortable, had seating inside and outside of room to dine at should we desire, also had a regular size refrigerator. The water pressure was acceptable. For the money I think we lucked out. This is an older place so if you want all of the bells and whistles this is not for you. If you want a nice place to lay down your head at night, have a coffee right outside your door this is the place. This place is on the beach, what more can you ask for:) Would definately stay here again.
SShana & T.JThe people were very nice an sweet no complaints there but the room smelled of cigarettes even though it was a non smoking an the room was not very clean at all the walls were all roughed paint peeling up. half the stuff was unplugged an the floor was super dirty there was mold on the ceilings Definitely will not be staying there again ever
