LETE Hostel

A cozy quirky little spot in Xining. Good for a short term stay. The location is in a safe, walkable distance from Mojia street market and Dongguan Mosque. Just some things to be mindful of is there a lot of stairs, which is common in most hostels. So if you are not sure if you can handle a lot of stairs, it might be something to consider. Also there is a lot of construction in the neighboring area so sometimes there is a lot of noise between that and the school across the street. Overall, the amenities are good and you can even rent a bicycle for 50¥ a day.

the location is okay... the service is great... really friendly stuff... the room is cozy... using the public washroom isn't uncomfortable at all... BUT there's school right cross the road... so if you want to sleep and have a rest be ready to listen for a school archestra at 7 o'clock in the morning....

Upgraded from bunk room to double room as it was available. Location is ideal just a 15 min walk over to the night markets. A nice 3 nights spent here. Cheap laundry service too (10 yuan)

Small nice kitchen, good common areas and comfy sofas for lounging. It was a bit hard to find the place itself, the pictures are slightly outdated and as foreigners we struggled to find it, the room was quite simple and small

Friendly staff, nice common area, simple but comfortable bedrooms. Bathrooms need some work. If you want to eat nearby I recommend the barbecue place across the road, great food and vibes.

Xining is a fantastic, vibrant city, and my biggest regret is not staying longer; it deserves way more time than just a quick transit stop thanks to its incredible food scene, night markets, and laid-back vibe. During my visit, I stayed at LETE Hostel, which serves as a solid, character-rich base for exploring the region. The top-floor communal space has real history and soul, beautifully flooded with sunlight, packed with green plants, a massive library, and even three cute resident birds. The ladies at the front desk are incredibly kind-hearted and welcoming, always doing their best to help out. Location-wise, it’s perfect - super convenient for the night markets, local food stalls, and bus stops, plus they offer safe bike storage for cyclists. For the price of a private room, the value and hospitality here are unbeatable, and I would absolutely stay again - and next time, I’ll be giving Xining the full week it deserves.

Really cool common area, not really likethe pictures though, you can tell it has soul and history. Kinda in the middle of nowhere where though. Bit dirty, stained sheets. But its cheap and in the middle of china so i got what i paid for. Did the trick.
