Stayed for two nights mid-week in May and this cost £239.98. Paying over £100 a night, I expected more. The website stated this hotel had a ‘new design’, but this was lacking in our room. For example, we had an old window (not like the one pictured on the website photos). The window didn’t close properly, and the wind whistled through constantly. No hand soap in the dispenser in the bathroom – it was empty. Overall, the bathroom smelled damp. The extractor fan was useless. It could have been cleaned better—dust looked like it had really built up on the blank socket in this room, for example. Our key cards stopped working twice (in 36 hours). Just annoying But there were some positives. The hotel is in a great location. However, as you are staying so central in the city, you should expect noise from the street or pub. The hotel doesn’t have parking, but it’s worth noting there is a good size (several cars) layby out the front – perfect for picking up/dropping off bags. The Spoons next door serves a great value breakfast. The bedding was clean, and the bed was comfortable. The staff friendly.
