The Milner York
"Bad air. Faulty aircon conditioner. Water running down wall all night keeping awake. Was not given another room. Carpet damp and a mouldy brown towel left to mop up. Stuffy damp room"
Astor York Hostel
"It's about a 17-minute walk from the train station, which can be a bit of a trek if you have luggage. You can store your bags for free in the basement before check-in. It's an old building, so there's no elevator, but the staff kindly helped me carry my luggage upstairs when I checked in. The lack of a bed curtain was a slight inconvenience, but overall it was a good stay."
Roomzzz York City
"The location by the river is very quiet. All the city's attractions are within walking distance. Although the room is small, it has a small pantry where you can cook simple meals, which is a great plus! The lobby has a 24-hour coffee machine with freshly ground coffee, and croissants are available for breakfast in the morning. Starting the day with a cup of rich coffee and a croissant before heading out for your day's activities is indeed an excellent choice!"
Hampton by Hilton York Piccadilly
"A very convenient location located within the city centre of York. There are numerous bus stops just located within 3 mins of walking making it very easy to travel to rail station or designer outlet. Moreover, there are numerous groceries such as saintsbury, Tesco and M&S foods. 10mins walk to York minister. It comes with complementary breakfast as well and it has many varieties and delicious. From the room you can overlook the Clifford castle as well."
No.1 York
"Above and beyond service and quality."
The Grand York
"Great staff very friendly .fantastic modern room great bathroom and shower can’t wait to return thank you and your staff for a Memorable stay ."
DoubleTree by Hilton York
"The hotel rooms are quite run down especially where we were right at the back Room 45. We had no remote to use the Air Conditioning during the hottest days we’ve had this year. Went to reception and they said someone would be with us in 15 minutes. Waiting 45 but we had a restaurant booking in the city so could not wait around. Water in the shower randomly goes scolding hot . Not a hotel I’d return to unfortunately which is a shame because most other Doubletree hotels I’ve stayed in have been great."
Holiday Inn YORK by IHG
"Clean hotel with lift, good location and excellent service."
The Lighthorseman

Oak Tree Inn
"Really great pub! If you’re out this way do stop off. Had a tasty pub lunch with really welcoming friendly service. Hope to visit again."
Judge's Lodging
"I had what they call a terrace room, well it was a room at the bottom of the pub beer garden. Don’t get me wrong the room was very nice apart from a mini bar fridge that was missing, if you wanted milk you had to go to reception for it, who wants to do that first thing in the morning? The blinds didn’t properly close so I had light shinning in from one of the rooms above the pub. I asked for them to be turned off the following night, that didn’t happen. What did happen though was I was woken up by three men having a loud conversation in the pub garden at 1.30am, I banged on my door to shut them up. All in all not a great stay and I will not be returning, so many other places to stay in York."
Novotel York Centre
"Really lovely staff, bedding could do with an upgrade, but honestly, a good stay. The staff really make up for any shortcomings the hotel may have."
Cosy but spacious, historic cottage on The Red House Estate
Aldwark Manor Estate
"This was our second visit to Aldwark Manor Estate and it certainly did not disappoint! This is an amazing hotel, staff are wonderful and cannot do enough to help. Food is out of this world! We really cannot recommend this hotel enough. We didnt want to leave. We will definitely be back and soon!"
The Pheasant Hotel
"We visited the Pheasant for a meal and we had the taster menu. The food was very nice and tasty with a good range of meat, fish and vegetable's included in the menu. The service was very efficient."
Hedley House Hotel. Wellness and Spa
"The environment and breakfast are great, but the only downside is that the hotel has no elevator. Guests have to carry their luggage upstairs by themselves, as there are no staff available to help."
Delta Hotels by Marriott York
"We’ve stayed at Delta Hotels York multiple times now, and it continues to be a fantastic choice every single visit. This was our 6th stay, and once again, it was a solid 10/10 experience. The hotel is always spotless—super clean and tidy throughout—which makes a big difference the moment you walk in. The room service is top-notch, and everything feels well thought out and well maintained. We especially appreciated the welcoming amenities in the room, including a great selection of coffee and the Ninja coffee pod machine, which was a lovely touch. The rooms and bathrooms are impressively spacious, with plenty of room to relax comfortably. It never feels cramped, which really adds to the overall experience. The staff are consistently friendly, polite, and genuinely helpful, making every stay smooth and enjoyable. Another big plus for us is the leisure facilities—the jacuzzi and pool are a great bonus and perfect for unwinding. On top of that, the on-site parking is safe, convenient, and reasonably priced, which is one of the main reasons we keep choosing this hotel when visiting York. Overall, a reliable and welcoming place that never disappoints. We’ll definitely be back again."
Middlethorpe Hall and Spa
"Great stay! Lovely gardens, pleasant and calm spa area, perfectly done breakfast. About 45 min walk from the city centre iftou ate on foot."
The Parsonage Hotel & Spa
"This is an old castle hotel with beautiful interiors, a sense of history, gardens in the yard, and sika deer and rabbits. The restaurant meal was well done!"
YHA York
"The room description was incorrect. The room was really tight for 5 person. We booked for 1 double bed, 1 single bed & 1 bunk bed, but we get 1 double bed bunk bed & another 1 bunk bed. It's difficult for elderly to climb up the bunk, we ended up pay for another 2 single beds in a separate room. The gave us a little discount for it."
Hotel du Vin & Bistro York
"Absolutely fantastic ❤️ 4th stay at this hotel and really love it . Great location, staff amazing, breakfast awesome. Will be back ❤️"
Hampton by Hilton York
"The location is easy to access and only 10 mins walk to old town. The hotel breakfast was very tasty. The room facilities were good and easy to control. If night light can be installed then this is good for walking to toilet without switching on any lights to disturb another half."
Hotel Indigo YORK by IHG
"The room was clean and decorated with local characteristics, and the overall style of the hotel was very unique. The staff were very friendly and professional, and the location was super convenient, very close to the city center. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in York, it's such great value for money!"
