The Milner York
"Travelling for my partners birthday. We were made so welcome by the staff! She is gluten free, the resteraunt managers were so helpful even cooking her breakfast from scratch both mornings !! Even a newly refurbished pool! Wewill be staying again 😁"
Astor York Hostel
"It's about a 17-minute walk from the train station, which can be a bit of a trek if you have luggage. You can store your bags for free in the basement before check-in. It's an old building, so there's no elevator, but the staff kindly helped me carry my luggage upstairs when I checked in. The lack of a bed curtain was a slight inconvenience, but overall it was a good stay."
Roomzzz York City
"Facilities: Excellent, with a free coffee machine downstairs. Hygiene: Relatively clean and tidy. Environment: Located by the river, it's very convenient to get anywhere. Both walking and taking a taxi will get you to your destination quickly. Service: Warm and friendly."
Hampton by Hilton York Piccadilly
"Comfy hotel , clean room, friendly staff, price including breakfast which has a variety of food"
No.1 York
"Very smart hotel with great service"
The Grand York
"Fabulous stay, so friendly, staff can’t do enough for you. Breakfast is scrummy! Rooms very comfortable and spotless."
DoubleTree by Hilton York
"I stayed at the DoubleTree by Hilton York for a short visit and, while the location was reasonably convenient, the overall experience fell short of expectations for a Hilton-branded hotel. I was upgraded to a room located across the car park from the main building, accessed via stairs and without central heating. Instead, the room relied on standing portable heaters, which wasn’t ideal — especially given the wet weather and the need to walk outside to reach the room. The room itself felt quite tired and dated, with noticeably creaky floorboards both inside the room and from neighbouring rooms, which made it hard to fully relax. The location is decent enough, but if you’re travelling by public transport there are better areas of York to stay in that offer easier access and a nicer overall setting. I didn’t try the breakfast, as there are plenty of good local options nearby, which I enjoyed instead, so I don’t feel I missed out. One small disappointment was that coffee wasn’t available outside of breakfast hours. Overall, with so many good accommodation options in York, I’m not likely to stay here again."
Holiday Inn YORK by IHG
"Clean hotel with lift, good location and excellent service."
The Lighthorseman
"Good location. Like as it has private free parking. Friendly and helpful staff."

Oak Tree Inn
"First time back since 30+ years and the Oak has certainly changed for the better. Expanded and very lavish. We stayed with our pooch for one night. Everything was perfect from the evening's food right through to the following morning's breakfast. Sad to see other pubs and businesses in the area are no longer there but the Oak goes from strength to strength"
Judge's Lodging
"I had what they call a terrace room, well it was a room at the bottom of the pub beer garden. Don’t get me wrong the room was very nice apart from a mini bar fridge that was missing, if you wanted milk you had to go to reception for it, who wants to do that first thing in the morning? The blinds didn’t properly close so I had light shinning in from one of the rooms above the pub. I asked for them to be turned off the following night, that didn’t happen. What did happen though was I was woken up by three men having a loud conversation in the pub garden at 1.30am, I banged on my door to shut them up. All in all not a great stay and I will not be returning, so many other places to stay in York."
Novotel York Centre
"Really lovely staff, bedding could do with an upgrade, but honestly, a good stay. The staff really make up for any shortcomings the hotel may have."
Cosy but spacious, historic cottage on The Red House Estate
The Pheasant Hotel
"We visited the Pheasant for a meal and we had the taster menu. The food was very nice and tasty with a good range of meat, fish and vegetable's included in the menu. The service was very efficient."
Hedley House Hotel. Wellness and Spa
"The environment and breakfast are great, but the only downside is that the hotel has no elevator. Guests have to carry their luggage upstairs by themselves, as there are no staff available to help."
Middlethorpe Hall and Spa
"A very special experience"
The Parsonage Hotel & Spa
"This is an old castle hotel with beautiful interiors, a sense of history, gardens in the yard, and sika deer and rabbits. The restaurant meal was well done!"
Aldwark Manor Estate
"Beautiful atmospheric hotel with beautiful entrance, spacious bedroom modern classic bathroom, only the food is expensive and nothing special also breakfast was meager. But for the rest is ok"
Delta Hotels York
"We’ve stayed at Delta Hotels York multiple times now, and it continues to be a fantastic choice every single visit. This was our 6th stay, and once again, it was a solid 10/10 experience. The hotel is always spotless—super clean and tidy throughout—which makes a big difference the moment you walk in. The room service is top-notch, and everything feels well thought out and well maintained. We especially appreciated the welcoming amenities in the room, including a great selection of coffee and the Ninja coffee pod machine, which was a lovely touch. The rooms and bathrooms are impressively spacious, with plenty of room to relax comfortably. It never feels cramped, which really adds to the overall experience. The staff are consistently friendly, polite, and genuinely helpful, making every stay smooth and enjoyable. Another big plus for us is the leisure facilities—the jacuzzi and pool are a great bonus and perfect for unwinding. On top of that, the on-site parking is safe, convenient, and reasonably priced, which is one of the main reasons we keep choosing this hotel when visiting York. Overall, a reliable and welcoming place that never disappoints. We’ll definitely be back again."
Burn Hall Hotel
"Very good hospitality. Peaceful environment and good breakfast options too!"
Hampton by Hilton York
"Excellent location, comfy rooms and beds, helpful and friendly staff, generous complimentary breakfast and in room tea and coffee. Able to leave bags even after checkout. Great stay thank you."
MonkBridge House
"A wonderful Airbnb experience in York, England. The room was clean and tidy, facing the street with a small parking lot in the back. The elderly couple were very welcoming and attentive. Breakfast was a traditional English breakfast with hot dishes, and a self-service buffet of fruits, vegetables, cold snacks, and drinks. The Airbnb is very close to York's old town; a 10-minute walk to the city walls and another 5 minutes to the famous York Minster and Diagon Alley, a filming location for Harry Potter."
