This hotel offers a spectacular view of the rice plain terraces. It is also very quiet and peaceful, suitable for those who wants a short getaway from the bustling city. I booked a terraced view room for my parents. I originally looked at the picture and imagined that I could drink tea in the room and enjoy the view. However, when I arrived, I found that the room was completely different from the picture. There was no tea table and no floor-to-ceiling window view. There was a wall behind the TV. There is a small balcony but there is no privacy outside facing other buildings.
Breakfast is okay, rice noodles, eggs and steamed buns are enough to fill you up. On the first night to watch the sunrise, the hotel also arranged for breakfast to be eaten at Azheke, so that we didn’t have to go back and forth, which was great.

This is a very good B&B that combines French and Hani traditions. The butlers, staff and managers all make guests feel comfortable. The service can really be described as precise and appropriate. When the weather is bad, the host will take us to visit traditional folk customs, introduce local customs, and also tell us a vivid Hani epic. The housekeeper is kind and smart, and it feels like Doraemon here, everything can be perfectly satisfied and solved~ The B&B will also provide special routes for guests, suitable for different groups of people. The B&B has its own restaurant, which provides a variety of local delicacies. Every dish prepared by the chef is very delicious. During our stay, it coincided with the winter solstice and Christmas, and the B&B warmly invited us to celebrate the holidays together~ The atmosphere was full of atmosphere.

The hotel is right on the roadside and parking is very convenient. We were upgraded to a view room. When you open the curtains, you can see the terraced fields and the sea of clouds. The butler in the store will explain how to use the terraced fields, and will also take us to the village to see that many experience workshops in the village are owned by him. Next You can come and stay for a few more days when the weather is better next time.

Ideal location (10 min walk to incredible scenic spot), room is okay, the host speaks fluent english and can help you get to and from the hostel. Food in the village is very good. You can go to and from the different places around the mountain very easily because the people driving here will offer service.

Just like all typical mountain villages, the cobbled steps/stairs, winding paths & narrow walkways shared with chickens & water buffaloes are usually dirty but it’s the untidy arrangement of the closely packed houses in this Pugaolou Village which is down the main road and right to the edge of the rice terraces that makes a memorable, warm and interesting stay and experience! The hotel is old but my ‘family’ room which cost almost double the windowless ones was warm and cozy, especially with the heater, electric blanket and instant hot water shower, and the floor-to-ceiling glass walls.
The restaurant by the same owner is down by the edge of the rice terraces and about a minute or two walk away, serves simple but tasty food.
The sole staff, Xiao Sui was extremely hardworking, friendly and helpful with tour and transport suggestions. He can be contacted via WeChat and will help guests with luggages from the main road down to hotel & vice versa.

Jacky's is the place for me as someone who has very limited understanding of Chinese. Moreover, many of the older villagers can't speak Chinese anyway. Jacky is a native of this place. I chose a very basic room which was sufficient for my needs. He was most helpful with information on photography, himself being a photographer and Hani culture. He arranged arrival and departure for me and helped with luggage. Please be aware that you will be in a very rural and once remote part of the country, so don't expect luxurious surroundings. If you are squirmish about mud, dirt and animal droppings, well, get used to it and enjoy one of the wonders of human effort and creation. If you are a photographer, do yourself a favour and also get a drone. Incomparable and endless views of rice terraces. And yes, Duoduo their dog can take you for a walk down to the terraces.

The environment of the hotel is very good. You can see the original appearance of the entire terraced field when you walk out of the deep mountains. If you say that the best view of the entire hotel is the restaurant, it must be. In the restaurant, you can see the sea of clouds above the terraced field. It is also very photogenic. The car is parked in the parking lot outside the hotel. Before going, you can contact the housekeeper and ask the housekeeper to arrange someone to come and move the luggage to the hotel. Because it requires manpower to move the luggage, it is recommended that you can organize the luggage and not bring unnecessary luggage in. In addition to watching the terraced fields, you can also wear local Hani costumes to take pictures in the hotel, and take very good pictures in the nearby Azheke village. GGuest UserAfter staying in hotels and B&Bs so many times, this is the first time I have written a review on the platform. It was a very warm stay experience that was still fresh in our memory after we left the hotel. This time we, a family of three, drove more than 30 hours and spent three days to reach this Hani village. The operators of this scarecrow inn are a young couple. As soon as we entered the parking lot, we felt like we were back at home. The male host who came out to pick us up helped us carry the big box. His lover also appeared in front of us dressed up. This is how the entire journey of the Hani tribe begins...
Their inn is very stylishly decorated, and the balcony has a panoramic view of the entire terraced fields. The clouds and mist in front of us are descending rapidly. For the first time, we feel like we are in the clouds!
Throughout the afternoon, the host took us to visit the surrounding folk villages, and then walked around the terraced fields. The hostess was busy in the kitchen preparing dishes and special items we needed. At the same time, they are always paying attention to our needs, asking us if we need this or that! We are deeply gratified by the meticulous care.
The male host is a man who has been a chef in a big city for seven years. The carp, chicken, and vegetables in the evening are all very delicious. Before going to bed at night, they brought their two babies up to chat with us for a while👧👦🙆
The most unforgettable thing is that when we left the next day, the host and hostess helped us carry the big box as always, escorted us all the way to the parking lot, and waved goodbye as if we were saying goodbye to close friends. generally!
Their enthusiasm and sincerity are the only reasons I recommend them!

CCamila The hotel manager was very helpful. He arranged to pick us up in a car close to the parking lot before our arrival. Our room was modern, clean and beautiful. The view from our balcony was breathtaking! You could spend all day at the hotel admiring the terraces from the hotel roof, restaurant or your room. The hotel manager arranged a driver to drive us back to the station. I would recommend the hotel to friends and family. We would stay again.

Xx1023The B&B has a dedicated parking lot, which is a few hundred meters away from the B&B. There are steps and stone paths, and it is a test of physical strength to carry a lot of things. The B&B sister will help the guests carry their luggage. To be honest, it is hard to bear it. Fortunately, we don’t have suitcases and can basically solve it by ourselves. The B&B is located next to the terraced fields, with a good view, comfortable facilities, good hygiene, and good sound insulation and heat preservation of the balcony doors and windows. The only problem is that the room door is not soundproof. When a wave of ******* guests are unscrupulous, they continue to make loud noises upstairs and downstairs for several hours at night, affecting rest. You can eat in the B&B, which is very convenient. It is not easy to open a B&B in the mountains to be hygienic and comfortable, and there are several local Hani aunts and sisters employed. Full marks!

GGuest UserThe B&B is located in Pugao Laozhai, Duoyishu Village, a peaceful countryside. Mountain spring water flows from the mountain through the front and back of the house and into the terraced fields. Hundreds of years of living habits are still continuing. Wandering around the village, you will see Hani people wearing traditional clothes everywhere. The owner's family is very down-to-earth and warm, and the dishes the owner cooks are really amazing. I had braised rice-flavored fish for two meals in a row, and the chicken soup is also very delicious. You can see the layers of terraces from the guest room; when the lights were turned off at 11 o'clock in the evening, the child discovered the huge and bright Big Dipper hanging in the sky outside the window! Accommodation with an excellent location can improve your travel experience. If you want to see the rice terraces while experiencing the ethnic customs, this is highly recommended!

AAaron CedricI love this hotel! The room is so atmospheric, with large windows connecting you with the beautiful scenery outside. On a foggy day, you cannot see any of the terraces and there's not much to do outside, but the room is at its most magical in the fog... the view looks like a famous Japanese screen of 'pine in mist'... or a Song dynasty painting. Incredibly beautiful.... I wish I spent more time in the room! The location of the hotel is perfect for those who want to see the sunrise over Duoyishu, since you can view it on the roof or, if you want to go to the best viewing platform that's only about a 10 minute walk away. The hotel is also semi-walking distance to Azheke Village, which is 45-60 minutes by walking on the ring road. Every morning the hotel serve rice noodle soup using local red rice.... it's quite nourishing to start a day of hiking. Oh, and the boss is really friendly and helpful. He seems to only speak Chinese, but I think he will go out of his way to be helpful if you dont speak Chinese. He makes great recommendations and even seems to be good at forecasting the weather to help you plan your trip. He definitel 'knows the hills.'

GGuest UserThe inn is located in a quiet village in Duoyishu. Location was good - about 15 to 20 mins walk from Duoiyishu terrace viewing platform, and there was a small restaurant near the inn. The Hani caretaker was hospitable and showed me the way to get to the terrace fields in the village. It was so wonderful being able to get so close to the rice terraces! Here, you could view the sunrise without having to pay the 70yuan charged at the viewing platforms. Do note that the 70 yuan ticket allows access to the other viewing platforms as well, and is good for 72 hours. I had a free upgrade to a bigger room with large windows and a view. The room was clean and the bed was so comfortable with an electric blanket. Owner is fluent in both Chinese and English, and was helpful in arranging my transport and giving advice on the sunrise viewing spots. I have beautiful memories of my stay in Duoyishu, would like to come back again!

JJamesHarrisThis was a really unexpected find in the villages around the Yuanyang rice terraces. The building itself is really beautiful and directing overlooks the terraces. The room was surprisingly large and the floor to ceiling window offers a great view(weather permitting). The bed was super comfortable and shower hot and powerful. The best part was the sister who works here; she couldn’t have been more helpful, even walking us to the nearby village to find a place to eat. She is enthusiastic and very knowledgeable about the area. The only downside(and I know it’s a bit of a sensitive issue) is the lack of air conditioning in the room. Even at the end of June it isn’t hot around Yuanyang, but it is very humid and air conditioning could definitely help with the latter. That being said, I slept well with the window open and would definitely recommend and stay here again.

JJennifer in ChinaPretty much next to the terraces! The view from my room was amazing, especially sunrise, could clearly see it from my room or could go to the outside area to see. Therefore didn’t have to go to the overcrowded viewing platform at the crack of dawn. Room is comfy, heater and towels provided but not really much else, so paying really for the view. Shower powerful and warm but no toiletries provided. Says restaurant on description but in fact doesn’t have one, has a couple of tables where the owner can warm up dumplings or baozi, however the owner is very nice and took me to see his friend which is only a short walk away who had a kitchen and could cook different meals at good prices. The owner helped me carry my luggage down, and it was pretty heavy, and then helped me to arrange someone to bring it up at the end of my stay. I would recommend not bring too much with you as it’s about an 8-10 min walk from the nearest car park, with quite a few steps or uneven paths but like I said, can arrange someone to help with any heavy luggage. Also it is in a little village surrounded by nature so bear in mind, you are going to hear things like the chickens and the wind. Owner speaks great English, always there to answer questions and help.
