Sunrise, ocean and Sandunes at Mui Ne
2D1N Solo trip to Mui ne, vietnam.
Doing the Sand dunes tour was truly a magnificent experience!
The tour has three slots available daily, but I highly recommend the sunrise timing from what you can see from the photos, truly a breathtaking view.
The tour was about 4 hours and cost me $20+ dollars.#Mui ne #Vietnam #Solo traveller #Sand dunes

Breathtaking landscape in Mui Ne - White Sand Dunes
White Sand Dunes, is one of the only desert areas in Vietnam.
White Sand Dunes is stretching in the area of Mui Ne sandy hills. The name of White Sand Dunes originates from its sand's color. The white sand hills are also named Bau Trang (White Lake). It is about 62km from Phan Thiet City to White Sand Dunes to the northeast, and about 30km from Mui Ne.
The most striking part of the area is a small lagoon covered in lotus flowers. Beside the lake, there is also a small pine forest that keeps the wind cool, even in the hot desert.
Hope you like this post if you found this useful. Cheers :)

Beautiful moments taken in Mui Ne
Mui Ne was my favorite place in #Vietnam 🇻🇳🐠 No tourists, rounded fishing boats, spectacular sunsets and great food 😉
Day 1: Sandy Welcomes
Landed in Mui Ne and was instantly hit by its beachy vibes. Checked into a sea-view resort, where the sound of waves became my lullaby.
Day 2: Sand Dunes & Sunrise Thrills
Explored the Insta-famous red and white sand dunes, where sandboarding added an adrenaline kick. Sunrise painted the sky, turning the dunes into a canvas of colors.
Day 3: Fishy Talks & Fairy Streams
Hung out at a lively fishing village, chatted with local fishermen, and got a taste of their daily catch. Explored the whimsical Fairy Stream, a chilled-out natural wonder.
Day 4: Munching Mui Ne
Dived into Mui Ne's food scene, feasting on fresh seafood at bustling markets. Grilled squid and fish curries were the stars, giving my taste buds a coastal joyride.
Day 5: Sunset Vibes at Mui Ne Beach
Wrapped up the trip with a chill evening on Mui Ne Beach. The sun dipped, painting the sky in warm hues. The beach vibes and soothing waves created a perfect farewell symphony.
Leaving Mui Ne with sandy toes and a heart full of beachy memories. Until next time, Mui Ne! 🏖️✨ #MuiNeMagic
Mui Ne sunset
There’s no better way to delve into Vietnam’s fishing and marine life than a visit to a fishing village. Some 7 km north of Mui Ne, Mui Ne Fishing Village is the busiest part of the town. Get your battery 📷 charged for thousands of shots capturing coracles or round fishing boats and wooden boats docked on a flat surface of the sea, fishermen and local merchants – the liveliest scenes await you!
MUI NE FISHING VILLAGE
Muine fishing village at the North end of mui ne bay is about 7km North of mui ne Town. .Its just a public spot with benches and some local sell their catch of the day. There are so many bowl boat in this fishing village. Water not very clean and only we shed up dirty sea creatures on shore. Very picturesque scenery of the fishing village and the special bowl shaped boat. Just a place to take same photo. #vietnam #muine #mytripvlog
Colourful Fishing Boats and Fresh Seafood
While travelling from north to south in Vietnam, we spent a few days in Mui Ne where we embarked on a sunrise tour of the red and white sand dunes. One highlight of this tour was visiting Mui Ne Harbour. While the smell was pretty fishy...and the pollution wasn't great...it was still interesting to become immersed in the local culture, enjoy fresh seafood and meet some friendly people!
It's a great place to come for photos too, as on a day with good weather, it can be super picturesque thanks to the hundreds of colorful fishing boats floating on the water.

White Sand Dunes Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Mui Ne White Sand Dunes, all the fantasies about the desert 🏜️ and the sea 🌊
Mui Ne, Vietnam, is just a simple little town, yet it can make you encounter a different world.
Mui Ne is quite small, with roughly four main attractions: White Sand Dunes, Red Sand Dunes, the Fishing Village, and Fairy Stream. Usually, a half-day tour can cover these points, and it's a common itinerary offered by travel agencies.
This text focuses on the White Sand Dunes:
1️⃣ You can choose to see the sunrise or sunset. We chose sunrise and regretted it a bit. Sitting on a sand dune on a motorbike in the early morning, facing strong winds, was freezing. Choosing sunset might be a better option.
2️⃣ There are two large sand dunes—one entirely surrounded by sand and another with half sea and half desert.
3️⃣ Buying transportation on the sand is not necessary and quite expensive. You can choose to walk, but it's challenging, and you probably won't be able to visit both main sand dunes.
4️⃣ For those who purchase transportation, you can enjoy shuttle services between the two sand dunes. The drivers intentionally drive down from a high point, creating a real roller coaster experience—very thrilling!
5️⃣ Regarding photography and clothing, there's no one-size-fits-all strategy. As long as you like it, it's okay—no need to overthink it.
Mui Ne accommodation + attractions recommendations 📸
Mui Ne is an incredibly beautiful and gentle place 😭 It simultaneously possesses the beach🌊 and desert🏜️, as well as the sun🌞 and moon🌙.
I took a charter from Dalat, and the journey took about 3-4 hours. Accommodation in Mui Ne: The Cliff Resort & Residences – highly recommended! I chose the Terra Ocean View, a beautiful room perfect for taking photos 🥰
There aren't many attractions in Mui Ne. You can directly sign up for a local day tour package, which includes:
1. White Sand Dunes (a must-visit!)
- Great for photography, ride an ATV (additional fee), and feel the excitement of speeding through the desert! Be prepared—it's very sunny, windy, and you'll encounter a lot of sand, so make sure to wear a mask.
2. Red Sand Dunes (considered average)
- The sand here is darker; people usually come to watch the sunset/sunrise.
3. Fishing Village
- Just a place to get off and take a souvenir photo.
4. Fairy Stream
- You have to walk barefoot in the river for about 20 minutes to reach the end for a photo and then walk back another 20 minutes. Be cautious, as there are stones in the river, and your feet may hurt.
Although there aren't many attractions, the scenery along the way is truly beautiful. Typically, tour guides who also serve as drivers will drive their jeeps to transport customers. They will stop along the way to take photos for you. Without further ado, just take a look at the pictures. Can you believe this is in Vietnam?
Vietnam Sahara Mui Ne Sand Dunes
In the southeast corner of Vietnam, there is a fishing village called Mui Ne. Here, the coconut breeze is gentle and the atmosphere is peaceful and gentle, known as the "lazy vacation paradise" and "the most romantic fishing village". In Mui Ne, besides watching the sea, the main attraction is the sand dunes. Mui Ne has two most charming sand dunes, one is the white sand dunes located in the north, and the other is the red sand dunes located in the south. The desert and the sea are two completely different landscapes, but they coexist harmoniously in this inclusive town of Mui Ne. The white and red sand dunes seem to follow the rise and fall of the sun, accompanying the awakening of Mui Ne, the silence of the fishing village, and the passage of time.
Mui Ne's white sand dunes are known as the "Sahara Desert of Vietnam" and are an excellent place to watch the sunrise. As the dunes are far from the center of Mui Ne, if you want to see the purest view of the white sand dunes, you must leave early and during the golden time of sunrise. Without a motorcycle or jeep, it is impossible to fully enjoy the panoramic view of the sand dunes at sunrise. Rent a motorcycle in advance, set your alarm for 4 o'clock, and experience the infinite charm of the sunrise in the flying sand and gentle breeze. As the sun rises higher, the endless desert looks like a layer of gold, revealing a unique exotic style. You can also get off the vehicle and walk on the delicate sand to feel the magic of nature while crossing the rolling sand dunes.
Departing from the small town of Meinai Fishing Village to Baisha Dunes takes nearly an hour. Generally, tourists arrange Baisha Dunes, Hongsha Dunes, and Xianv Creek for a one-day tour, and chartering or joining a local one-day tour group is a more convenient way. These three attractions do not require admission tickets, but of course, additional fees are required for activities such as playing on the beach or riding a jeep.
White Sand Dune Vietnam
This is another big send in Vietnam call white sand dune. this one is very huge the sand is in white color that's why they call it as white. you can rent a vehicle to write on the sun or you can rent a car and pay a money as a group. When you driving they will not allow you to try because it's dangerous but they will drive the vehicle for you you just enjoy it. Me here has more activity to do than red sand dune. I recommend you to come here and chill.

Interesting sand dune and amazing sunset view
📍Located in Phan Thiet, Mui Ne, this famous sand dune is a nice place to visit. You can rent a Jeep and the driver will drop you off nearer to the dune. If you are adventurous, you can try the sand sliding and imagine yourself in the dessert.
We came in January and the weather was pleasant. The wind blows the sand away and it’s such a beautiful scene of nature. If you are into photos, come here around 5pm to capture 🌅 view and you won’t be disappointed.
📝Things to bring: water and food as there’s nothing at the dune. Bring sunglasses too as the sand may get into your eyes if the wind is strong. Wear slipper is recommended if you don’t want the sand to get stuck in your shoes.
Red Sand Dunes - Mui Ne, Vietnam
Red Sand Dunes are smaller than White Sand Dunes but no less beautiful. It is convenient to combine it with a visit to the White Dunes and the Red Canyon, and, which is good, they are located very close to the resort area of Mui Ne and you can even get to them by bicycle.
In fact, the dunes are not red at all, but rather yellow or orange. They become reddish only under certain lighting conditions.
Opposite the dunes across the road there are several cafes where you can drink soft drinks and leave your vehicles in the parking lot.

Vietnam's desert
I have been to several Southeast Asian countries and found that Vietnamese people are more refined than people in other countries.
At that time, I came here with a local group for 5 dollars per person to watch the sunrise. But when we got to the white sand beach, the driver who took us insisted that we take a jeep up (he said that if we walked, we wouldn't reach the top by sunrise, but this sand dune is really not suitable for walking because the sand is soft). But the starting price was 1.4 million for four people, later I bargained for 700,000 for four people, he refused. Seeing us leave, the driver who took us pulled us back, and finally we made a deal at 600,000.
Actually, it's quite boring here if you don't play with sand sliding and jeep, just taking pictures. But indeed, the pictures turned out well.

Fairy Stream, Mui Ne Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Fairy Stream - Mui Ne, Vietnam
Fairy Stream is a small red canyon in Mui Ne. It is called red because of the dramatic combination of red, orange, pink and white. It is located 18 km northeast of Phan Thiet.
Walking along the canyon there and back will take an hour and a half. During the day it is very hot to walk along the coast. You can take off your shoes and wade through the water of the river flowing from Dinh Hint Tien mountain. For the most part, the depth will reach your ankle and only in some places go up to the knee.
Address: Huynh Thuc Khang, Ham Tien, Phan Thiet – Mui Ne, Vietnam.

A Fairytale Adventure?
Thanks to a pretty dramatic landscape featuring soft colored canyon of dunes that eminate orange, pink and white colors! It's a pretty unique place to visit, that's for sure, and was one of the highlights of a morning tour we joined whiile staying in Mui Ne. This unique geological formation features a little creek, with water that only comes up to your ankles, so you can walk through the majority of it without ever getting your clothes wet!
Entry Price: Free of Charge (but we joined a tour...)
Time Needed: Maybe around 1-2 hours. It took us about an hour to reach the end of the stream
If you feel hungry along the way, we saw that some locals had set up a number of food stalls where you can pick up fresh fruit and other snacks! Plus there are even bars and restaurants more upstream the further you go - surprisingly!

Michaela (@uncoveringcities) Beach Paradise Mui Ne
If you’re looking for an off the beaten path kind of beach vacation, look no further than Vietnam’s Mui Ne!
Surrounded by beautiful beaches, Mui Ne is the kind of place where you can enjoy the waves by surfing, stand up paddling, wind surfing and more. Of course you can also just laze about on the beach drinking from coconuts sold by locals like I did 🌴🥥
In addition to the lovely beaches, you can also check out the fairy stream, a cool walking path through the dunes that leads to mini waterfall 🏞

The Fairy Stream in Mui Ne, Vietnam, a popular spot for internet celebrities
Known as the 'Lazy Vacation Paradise' and 'Most Romantic Fishing Village', Mui Ne, Vietnam, has transformed from an unknown fishing village that produced fish sauce to a popular seaside town in Vietnam. Mui Ne, as its name suggests, is so beautiful that it's irresistible. In addition to the sea, a small stream that flows through the sand dunes and rock formations on the east side of Mui Ne has gradually become a popular spot for internet celebrities. This is the Fairy Stream in Mui Ne.
What to see: Half is flame, half is seawater. It's the perfect description for the clear blue waters of Mui Ne and the fiery Fairy Stream. The fire comes from the reddish sand mountains in the Fairy Stream that burn like flames. The Fairy Stream itself is unremarkable, but on both sides of the valley, there are towering clusters of Danxia colored rocks, like a miniature version of the Grand Canyon. The stream water continuously flows out from the cracks in the rocks, burning like a raging fire under the sun.
How to play: Of course, it's best to walk barefoot in the water. The Fairy Stream, also known as the Immortal Spring, is hidden deep in the forest between the fishing village and the coast. The stream is very shallow, and the water is filled with warm, soft sand. Walking on it is like getting a massage. The scattered stream is like the delicate hand of a fairy gently stroking your bare feet. Walking forward with the stream is really super cool.
Admission: Free.
How to get there: Mui Ne is a small town with inconvenient public transportation. It is recommended to charter a car or drive there. It is completely sufficient to visit the Fairy Stream + Mui Ne White Sand Dunes + Red Sand Dunes + Mui Ne Fishing Village in one day.
Recommended shooting location: At the entrance of the scenic area, you can first climb up the red soil mountain of the karst landform. From here, you can overlook the magnificent scenery of the hills and the sea, and it is also an excellent location for shooting the Fairy Stream.
