My 2023 - Ganchuan Qing Travel Notes (Eight) Lianbao Yeze

It takes about 1 hour to depart from Aba County and travel 40 kilometers to reach the Lianbao Yeze Scenic Area. Tickets can be purchased at the visitor center for 120 per person, and you can drive in. Lianbao Yeze in Chinese means 'The Peak of Dignified Jade', located in the southeast of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, in Aba County, Sichuan, and belongs to the Bayan Kara Mountain in the eastern section of the Kunlun Mountains with Nianbaoyuze in Jiuzhi County, Qinghai. It is the watershed of the Yangtze River and the Yellow River, located on the south and north slopes of the mountain range, with similar geographical features. It is the first of the many sacred mountains in the Ando Tibetan area, and also the battlefield where the legendary King Gesar once fought, known as 'The Source of Shu Mountain, the Stairway to Heaven of Kunlun.' The scenic area currently has two developed routes, Zhagaer Lake and Panyangping, which can be reached by car. Going straight up to Panyangping, starting from an altitude of 4000M and spiraling up to the Panyangping viewing point at 4300M. Standing on the Panyangping viewing platform, the distant small lake is like a string of pearls emitting a blue light. Looking up, the snow-capped mountains stand proudly, with peaks scattered. The morning light reflects the cold white of the snow on the surface of the mountain, pointing straight to the sky like a knife and axe, as if the legendary King Gesar is leading his army in formation, with an imposing aura of iron horses and ice rivers. Continuing upwards, you can take a shuttle bus to reach the 4520 viewing platform, which is currently the highest point in the entire scenic area. The entire viewing platform is built on a stone mountain peak, with a plank road built according to the mountain's undulations. In October, there is snow everywhere. Going up, in the distance is a forest of ice and snow peaks forming a hundred thousand mountains, with strange rocks and jagged teeth, layered from far to near, forming a perfect U-shape in the valley below, the huge valley bottom is a pool of clear water from Zhagaer Lake... a dreamy fairy world. This is the only place in the entire loop that is worth buying a ticket to enter.
