The Jiaolong of Shichahai still stands tall

The Jiaolong of Shichahai, which was the hottest attraction in Beijing during this year's Spring Festival, still stands tall. In the first lunar month, the thick white snow surrounded the area, and Shichahai was frozen over, with the Jiaolong presenting a majestic and domineering presence. Now, with the arrival of spring, the tender green willow branches by the water dance in the breeze, and the colorful Jiaolong, composed of a giant head and thousands of colorful auspicious cloud lanterns, remains a spectacular sight, full of vitality. Back then, the place was crowded with people, and tourists flocked to catch a glimpse of the Jiaolong's charm. Now, in the quiet of the early morning, many residents run beneath the dragon's body. The Jiaolong of Shichahai is 202.4 meters long, symbolizing 'the dragon soars across the four seas in 2024.' The dragon's head is located at the south gate of the Lotus Flower Market, and its body stretches across the entire street on the west side of the market. The Jiaolong installation features digital lighting effects, and at night, the giant dragon shimmers with flowing lights, and its eyes slowly open and close. Those who did not see the Shichahai Jiaolong during the Spring Festival should take the opportunity to visit and receive some of the dragon's luck for the year. According to information on the local treasure website, the Jiaolong display is expected to end in late March. To get to the Shichahai scenic area, take Subway Line 6 and get off at the Beihai North Gate station. The scenic area is free of charge.
