A scenic and tranquil courtyard-style cemetery

"Liang Qichao Cemetery" is located in the north garden of Beijing National Botanical Garden, with the cemetery backed by the Western Hills, facing south from the north, and surrounded by stone walls. Pines and cypresses are planted within the garden, which covers an area of 4,300 square meters, where the eastern part of the garden is the cemetery, and the western part is the affiliated woodland. Liang Qichao (1873–1929) was a modern Chinese thinker and politician, one of the leaders of the Hundred Days' Reform, and a representative figure of the Reformists and the Legalists. The cemetery was designed by Liang Qichao's son, the famous architect Liang Sicheng. In 1978, Liang's descendants entrusted the Liang Qichao Cemetery to the botanical garden for people to pay their respects and admire.
