Gate of the Bridge

Puerta del Puente is located at Plaza del Triunfo, s/n 14003, Cordoba, around 2 to 3 minutes walk from the Great Mosque. It is a Renaissance gate that was built in the 16th century to commemorate a visit to the city by King Philip II. You can see the two reliefs representing, on one side, a woman sitting on a dead and beheaded man, on the others, a female character with a baby on her arm. The Triunfo de San Rafael de la Puerta del Puente is a statue of San Rafael, just near the Renaissance Gate. A tourist information centre is just a stone throw away, you can come and get more information about Cordoba if you needed. Almost all of the attractions in Cordoba are nearby in the old town, that was declared as an UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1984.
