Kowloon Walled City Park | Hong Kong

The original site of Kowloon Walled City Park was Kowloon Walled City, one of the most important relics of modern Hong Kong history. Visiting it, besides enjoying the beautiful scenery, you can also reminisce about the old Hong Kong style of the last century. Until 1987, the Chinese and British governments reached an agreement to demolish the walled city, and in 1994, Kowloon Walled City Park was built on the site. The park was transformed on the original site, with the design pattern of early Qing Dynasty Jiangnan gardens. While retaining some ancient buildings, it also shows a strong Chinese historical and cultural atmosphere. The biggest gain during the renovation process was the discovery of two granite stone tablets, one with the words "South Gate" and the other with "Kowloon Walled City", which are now hung at the south gate entrance of the park.
