What to see in Java in 2-3 days. My recommended itinerary.

If you're vacationing in Bali and wondering whether it's worth going or flying to Java for at least a couple of days, my answer is a resounding yes! We flew there ourselves for an interview at the American Embassy, ​​and afterward, we decided not to miss the opportunity to see East Java. And it turned out to be one of the most beautiful trips ever 😻 If you're short on time, I would recommend this route. 📍 Day 1 - Tumpak Sewu Waterfall It starts off pretty calm. Viewpoints, beautiful views, photos. But the further you go, the more interesting the route becomes. First, there are regular paths, then earthen steps, then stairs with water running down them. After that, you have to climb over rocks and literally clamber over the waterfall 😁 ❗️So my main advice is to not wear sneakers. Bring Crocs or comfortable non-slip flip-flops and a change of clothes (leave them in the car). You'll get wet 💯 I'd like to especially mention the local guides. They not only help you navigate the route, but also take incredible photos and videos 🥰 We probably got some of the best shots of Indonesia right here. After the walk, we had a leisurely lunch and drove back to the hotel. And that's another plus of the excursion. After several hours of walking around waterfalls and climbing rocks, it's so nice to just fall asleep in the car instead of driving. 📍 Day 2 - Bromo Volcano The alarm rang around 1:30 AM. We reached the first point, were transferred to brightly colored jeeps, and we headed out to watch the sunrise. The walk to the viewpoint is quite short and on a road, so there's no need to worry about the steep climb. At the site, we were given hot cocoa, a small breakfast, and waited for the first rays of the sun. Honestly, the photos don't even begin to capture the scale of this place 🔥 From above, the valley resembles another planet. Somewhere it's Mars, somewhere else it's like a scene from a sci-fi movie. Enormous volcanoes, clouds, smoking craters, and endless sand fields. After sunrise, we descended, walked all the way to the Bromo crater, filmed everything with a drone, and returned to the hotel for breakfast by eight in the morning. And then it's off to the airport and the flight back to Bali. 📍 If you have an extra day Add Ijen Volcano to your itinerary. We've been there before as a separate trip, so we didn't go this time. But most excursions combine Tumpak Sewu - Bromo - Ijen into one three-day itinerary.
