Malaysia | Kuala Lumpur Railway Station, a Moorish-style building in Southeast Asia

🚗 The Kuala Lumpur Railway Station, built in 1910, is another historic building deeply influenced by Moorish architectural style. It was meticulously designed by the famous architect Arthur Benison Hubback. Its majestic arches and domes, and the glittering spires bridge the past and present, offering a Byzantine fairyland-like experience. It underwent a major renovation in 1986 to provide passengers with the comfort of air conditioning and modern design. 🚗 In the past, passengers could travel from this station to most towns on the west coast of the Malay Peninsula and to Tumpat on the east coast, as well as directly to Singapore and Thailand. Since the start of operation of KL Sentral in 2001, its status as the primary railway station has been replaced. Currently, it is one of the stops for the electric train service. 🚗 In fact, many train stations in European and American countries are very exquisite buildings. I think it might be due to the influence of their colonial culture in Southeast Asia in the past, which led to the construction of many fine buildings, including train stations.
