Incredible hike up Bazhai Mountain, Shaoguan

This hike was one of the most visually stunning but also physically exhausting hikes I have ever been on. From the car park the mountain seems very far away. We hiked through a small village and up over the hills through patches of peaceful forest for 2-3 hours, a lot of which is stairs going uphill. Finally we reached the bottom of the incredible mountain The stairs and paths lead up the side of the mountain, with an amazing view of the nearby "teapot mountain". At this point the stairs become very tricky to navigate and at one point there is a near vertical section with chains to hold on to. Luckily there Is an easier way to go which is slightly less dangerous. When you finally reach the top the view is nothing short of spectacular. Definitely something you must experience if you come to Shaoguan. Be warned it is an intense hike and you will need a lot of food and rest after it. #mountainview #viewontop #staycation
