Zhengding Ancient City One-Day Tour Guide

Zhengding in Shijiazhuang has a long history, numerous cultural relics, and profound cultural deposits. Inside the ancient city of Zhengding, there are 9 national key cultural relics protection sites, with nine towers, four pagodas, eight major temples, and twenty-four golden archways, earning it the reputation of a "treasure house of ancient architecture". 🗓Itinerary: Enter from the East Gate of the ancient city → Zhengding Museum → Longxing Temple → Lingxiao Pagoda of Tianning Temple → Rongguo House → Wen Temple of the Prefecture → Sumita Pagoda of Kaiyuan Temple → Yanghe Building → Chengling Pagoda of Linji Temple → Huata Pagoda of Guanghui Temple → South City Gate Wall to view lanterns. ✅Must Experience: Zhengding Museum: Located at No. 66, Wangquan South Street, Zhengding County, next to Longxing Temple, the museum has one ground floor and two underground floors. The ground building consists of a lobby, a lecture hall, and exhibition halls; the two underground floors are the main exhibition area, consisting of a central rest hall, 3 main exhibition halls, and 1 multimedia exhibition hall. An hour's visit is basically enough to get a general understanding of Zhengding's history. Longxing Temple: Praised by the famous ancient architecture scholar Mr. Liang Sicheng as "the foremost temple outside of Beijing," the visit requires two to three hours, as there is too much to see, detailed in the Longxing Temple travel notes. The Four Pagodas of Zhengding: The Four Pagodas of Zhengding refer to the Huata Pagoda of Guanghui Temple, Lingxiao Pagoda of Tianning Temple, Sumita Pagoda of Kaiyuan Temple, and Chengling Pagoda of Linji Temple. After visiting Longxing Temple, we did not enter the other temples and only viewed the pagodas from outside. Wen Temple of the Prefecture: Located on the south side of Changshan East Road inside Zhengding city, only the Jie Gate and its east and west wing rooms remain. The Jie Gate is the only Yuan Dynasty building within Zhengding city. The main attractions of Rongguo House include the Rongguo House scenic area, Ningrong Street scenic area, and the Cao Xueqin Memorial Hall. It is designed and built based on the "Rongguo House" depicted in the classic Chinese novel "Dream of the Red Chamber." We did not enter. Yanghe Building spans over the South Main Street inside the south gate of Zhengding city, with the south side as the front, and a large regular script plaque with the words "Yanghe Building" hanging in the center. There are stairs on the east side for ascending and descending. Underneath the brick platform, there are two arched doors on the left and right, allowing pedestrians and vehicles to pass through. Zhengding Ancient City Lantern Festival: When we went during the Qingming Festival, the Spring Festival Lantern Festival in Zhengding Ancient City was still ongoing and free of charge. The lantern festival set up five main themes: "Magnificent Era," "Charm of Nine Dynasties," "Land of Fortune," "Heritage Craftsmanship," and "Children's Dream Wonderland," which will display the culture of the New Year, the history of the ancient city, the culture of blessings, and more, well worth a visit. 🚉Transportation Tips: The most convenient way to get to Zhengding Ancient City from Shijiazhuang is by self-driving, and parking in the ancient city of Zhengding is free.
