Museum of Steam Machines in Tarnowskie Góry

Open-Air Museum of Steam Machines in Tarnowskie Góry - part of the Historic Silver Mine, located in Tarnowskie Góry. It includes 25 exhibits referring to the history of mining in Tarnowskie Góry, the decisive element of its dynamic development since the end of the 18th century was the introduction of modern - at that time - steam technology. The open-air museum was opened in 1976 with the opening of the Historic Silver Mine (then: Historic Silver Ore Mine) - one of the fragments of the underground workings of the Royal Fryderyk Mine (German: Königliche Friedrichsgrube), including corridors, sidewalks and drainage adits, the total length of which is over 150 km. In 2014, the exhibits were restored, and a year later, during the Industriada, a small open-air museum railway was opened to tourists, the route of which is approximately 500 meters long. #poland #museum
