Rehai Scenic Area is located 8 kilometers southwest of Tengchong City, with an altitude of 1520 meters and an area of about 9 square kilometers. 'A pool of Rehai' is one of the twelve scenes of ancient Tengyue. In 1639, Xu Xiake, a geographer of the Ming Dynasty, visited Rehai and made a detailed and wonderful description of the geothermal landscape of Rehai, making 'Rehai' known to the world. Not far into the valley, you can smell the pungent sulfur, see the rising mist, the boiling hot springs gushing out, and the mountain streams converge into rivers, and people in the valley are like in a big steamer. Rehai is the most concentrated area of Tengchong's geothermal display, gathering many high-temperature hot springs and gas springs, and is famous for its geothermal landscape. The scenic area has more than 80 gas springs and hot spring groups, 10 of which have a water temperature of over 90°C. The famous landscapes mainly include Dagun Pot, Huaitai Well, Sister Springs, Drumming Springs, Glasses Springs, Pearl Springs, Spring Flower Skirt, Toad Mouth, Lion Head, etc. From the north to the sulfur pond, south to Songshan Qian, east to Zhongxiao Temple, and west to Banana Garden, there are various types of geothermal landscapes. These hot springs and cyclones are divided according to chemical composition. It can also be divided into carbonic acid springs, sulfur springs, and sulfuric acid springs. In the carbonic acid and sulfur spring areas, the vegetation is lush and green. In the sulfuric acid spring area, the heat is steaming, there are hissing sounds everywhere, the surface sand and stones are exposed, and there is no grass. The spring water contains a variety of trace elements beneficial to the human body, and has unique therapeutic effects on dozens of stubborn diseases such as rheumatism, osteoproliferation, sequelae of stroke, skin diseases, etc. Rehai Dagun Pot is a basin-shaped boiling water pool with a diameter of more than 3 meters and a depth of about 1.5 meters. It emits boiling water at 97 degrees all year round, with a loud sound and steam rushing into the sky. The local people also use the vents next to the spring, pad the straw, steam sweet potatoes, potatoes, and boil eggs in the Dagun pot hot spring pool, which can be done in 20 minutes.
