Come to the South Gate of Wuwei, remember the past of Liangzhou, and appreciate the culture of the Five Liang

The South City Gate, also known as Zhaowu Gate, was first built in the Sui Dynasty and rebuilt in the Ming Dynasty. It is an important historical and cultural symbol of Wuwei. The original city tower was a double-eave hip-roofed building. It is said that at night, you can clearly hear the sound of rain falling on the tiles, hence the name 'Night Rain Hitting Tiles', which is one of the eight ancient scenes of Liangzhou. Later, due to wars and earthquakes, it was almost completely destroyed. What we see now is the restored work, but it is still majestic; the three gate holes under the city gate, the traffic coming and going, and the square in front of the city tower have become a place for citizens and tourists to relax and exercise.
