Come and see the cherry blossoms at Turtle Head Isle in Wuxi

Turtle Head Isle, located on the shore of Taihu Lake in Wuxi, is a wonderful place to enjoy the cherry blossoms in spring. Visitors can take a boat to the Fairy Island in Taihu Lake, where they can feed the seagulls. Turtle Head Isle was initially established as a garden. Over time, local gentry such as Yang Hanxi bought land to build the 'Horizontal Cloud Villa' and raised funds to construct the Guangfu Temple and Taozhu Pavilion; Wang Xinru built the 'Taihu Lake Villa'; Chen Zhongyan built the Chen Garden (also known as Ruopu), and Zheng Mingshan built the Zheng Garden, among others. These private gardens and villas dotted the landscape and increased in number over the years. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, most of these private gardens and villas were taken over by the government and merged into the 'Turtle Head Isle Park'.
