Here you can also see 5 national treasure-level cultural relics, including the only complete kneeling archer. 🕙Opening hours: 8:30—17:00 🌟Historical background The Terracotta Army of Emperor Qin Shi Huang's Mausoleum is a burial pit accompanying Emperor Qin Shi Huang, located 1.5 kilometers east of Emperor Qin Shi Huang's Mausoleum in Xiyang Village, south of Lintong District, Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province. It is a type of ancient tomb with an area of 22,780 square meters. In March 1974, Pit 1 of the Terracotta Warriors was discovered. In 1976, Pit 2 was excavated at the eastern end of Pit 1. In May of the same year, Pit 3 was discovered. From 1979 to 1994, Pits 1 to 3 were opened in batches. The Terracotta Warriors mainly consist of a large number of pottery figures and horses, which were used in ancient times as burial objects to replace human sacrifices. So far, about 8,000 pottery figures and horses have been discovered, mainly divided into charioteers, cavalry, and infantry. In 1961, the Mausoleum of Emperor Qin Shi Huang was announced by the State Council as one of the first batch of national key cultural relics protection units.
