Decided to go to Linyi, Shandong for the holidays, with the intention of avoiding popular tourist spots for a relaxed time walking with the kids, sightseeing, and enjoying good food. Unexpectedly, I still ended up at a 5A-rated tourist spot, haha. Since I was there, I might as well fully experience this controversial online destination and then summarize it for everyone. First, the conclusion: the Underground Grand Canyon and the subsequent Firefly Cave are attractions that require a lot of physical strength. Both areas are particularly large, and if you plan to walk the entire way, the Grand Canyon alone has an estimated 4-kilometer loop with no restrooms in between. If you have the stamina and want to see the underground cave scenery, don't hesitate, just book your ticket and go. Now for the details, the management of the scenic area has really put in the effort this year 1️⃣🚗🅿️ Parking is managed from the start, quite orderly, and charged per visit, ten yuan each time. Just that if you arrive late, you'll have to park further away and walk up the hill. 2️⃣ This year, electronic tickets no longer need to be exchanged for paper ones, you can directly scan the QR code to enter the scenic area. 3️⃣ The scenic area has affordable convenience stores, which I've tried and can confirm are reasonably priced. If needed, go there to buy, and avoid the roadside stalls. 4️⃣ For the scenery inside the cave, you can refer to the pictures I took from image 3 to image 13. As for the flow of visitors, refer to image 14, it's basically quite easy to walk around. Some small tips for the trip: 1️⃣ Regarding the 'Little Dragon' from the bottom of the mountain to the cave entrance, personally, I don't think it's necessary to ride it. It's expensive (30 yuan) and has long queues. Although the scenic area highly recommends it, don't believe their claim of a 3000-meter mountain path, it's actually about 1.5 kilometers. If you really don't want to walk, there's also a sightseeing car later on, with no queues and only costs 10 yuan, haha. 2️⃣ Regarding the cave rafting, if you want to experience the thrill, go for it. If not, there's no need to spend 60 yuan per person for it. Walking is also quite fast. 3️⃣ Half a day is enough for the visit, any more is unnecessary as there's not much else to do, and there's virtually no dining on the mountain.
