Jungfrau Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
I see trees of green ♪
Beautiful alpine village nestled in the mountains with an amazing view of the Jungfrau valley and Lauterbrunnen down below. Taking the train up to Wengen will guarantee you a lovely view of Lauterbrunnen.
The village has shops, attractions and amenities within walking distance. Though, if you do decide to get a resort/hotel further up, be sure to ask for shuttle cars, the upwards slopes are no joke.
Our hotel had a lovely view of the cable car rides up to Männlichen, the street below and at night- if you’re willing to stand in the 14 degrees cold (even in summer) you can get a good picture of the night sky!
Of course, we couldn’t stay in Wengen without visiting Männlichen and her famous Royal Walk- a short hike of 1.7km, with elevations up to 80-120m up/down, grants you a truly breathtaking panoramic view. ((the gravel paths can be a bit slippery so be careful on the way down))
The trail from Männlichen to Kleine Scheidegg was an overall downhill walk with a view of Grindelwald down below and the snow capped mountains. But before you embark on this trail be sure to either get something to eat or drink (and the WC of course) at Männlichen as it is quite a long walk (about 4.7km). Near the midpoint you can see Eiger! A truly memorable walk with amazing scenery of the town below and mountains all around us.
Truly a scenic paradise with plenty of activities to do, whether you prefer to simply enjoy the views or try out some of their more thrilling activities. It was my first time visiting Switzerland but certainly won’t be the last!#switzerland #summervacation #nature #alps

Jungfrau | Top of Europe !!!! 🇨🇭
How to get there: There are 2 ways to go up Jungfrau: 1) By the Cable Car (Eiger Express) or 2) By train. We went up by the eiger express (from Grindelswald, interchanging at Terminal), and we came down by train.
Before we went up, we contemplated of joining a tour but given we have done a fair share of research, I ended up going by ourselves.
There are several viewing sites, which ofc include Jungfrau itself, ice palace, exhibition of history of the site construction of Jungfrau, and Lindlt chocolate museum.
It was negative 18 degree celsius on Jungfrau!!! So for those who cannot handle the cold, don’t visit during the winter 😂😂😂
Despite the weather condition was not ideal (no blue sky😣) but i guess it is as expected because we went during the winter ❄️)
Pro tip: I would recommend purchasing the swiss pass as you get discount for the jungfrau ticket and free transport within Switzerland!!

Grindelwald: A crime if you miss it!
Get here by train! We came via Basel and just enjoyed the scenic views from the huge train windows. Lake, villages, mountains, you won’t want to close your eyes!
Coming here in early autumn, we escaped the crowds and could explore First, Eiger, and Jungfraujoch with ease and little wait time. The mountains are magnificent all thru the year! The colours of the landscape will change and hiking to the Balchapsee is an experience in itself. Discovering WCs in the middle of nowhere, up
in the mountains, complete with toilet tissue is something only the Swiss can guarantee!
There are many hotels in this little village and all are within walking distance of the train station. We stayed at the Eiger Aparthotel as we wanted to prepare our own meals to save cost. Bookings come with daily afternoon tea and the variety of cakes, teas and coffees were an absolute treat!
There are many cafes around for fondue and all sorts of local delights. We opted to explore the two supermarkets for raw ingredients and cooked up our own dinners at a fraction of the cost of eating out. Do check out the different yogurt flavours, types of cheese, and cured meats too!
As it is a tourist destination, you can get souvenirs and major brands here. There is a post office (to send postcards) and some banks if you need forex.
My #2023travelwish is to drop by this beautiful place again in the SUMMER and take in the wonders of creation ❤️

Top of Europe
One of great spot at Switzerland ❤️
#tripaway
The train ride to the Top of Europe is a scenic one and quite an unforgettable experience, right from Interlaken OST to Wengen/ Grindelwald to Kleine Scheidegg and finally to Jungfraujoch. The rail tickets though are very highly priced. Even though it is a really expensive amount to get here, I am really happy with the amount of money we spent because it was such a great fun day and it was totally worth it.
#tripaway
The Jungfrau is a famous mountain in Switzerland and is part of the Alps. Its name comes from the small town at the foot of the Jungfrau, the former convent of Interlaken. At 4158 meters above sea level, it is like a young girl, wrapped in silver and standing quietly between the white clouds. In fact, in addition to the Jungfrau, there are two other peaks standing side by side with her, Eiger (3,970 meters) and monks (4099 meters).
In addition to the magnificent scenery to watch, the Jungfrau Mountain Railway, which transports tourists up and down the mountain, is an engineering miracle of mankind in the early 20th century. In fact, the Jungfrau is not the highest mountain in Europe. It is called the top of Europe because it is the highest railway in the world.
There are different routes for mountaineering railways. Visitors can go up and down the mountain and feel the Qifeng Mountain from side to side. From different heights, the scenery changes like a different season, from flowers to ice and snow, but More than forty minutes. Sometimes even the windows are completely different from each other. Of course, walking through the green fields and snow peaks, the retro-colored mountain train is also a charming sight.
Free travellers generally depart from Interlaken, which consists of a three-story connection. The
Jungfrau lower railway is a blue-yellow carriage, referred to as BOB
Jungfrau mid-level railway is a yellow-green carriage, referred to as WAB)
Jungfrau upper-level railway is a red carriage, referred to as JB
subordinate to multiple companies Need to transfer 2 times.

Top of Europe: Snow, Sculptures, Slopes
Hop on a train to reach Jungfraujoch, the Top of Europe, without the huffing and puffing! The air thins as you head up the mountain so take note not to over exert yourself.
The ice palace with beautiful ice sculptures is fascinating to visit, especially if you are from the tropics like me! Walking in the snow is fun but watch out for slippery ice as you queue to take a pic with Swiss flag. The view is breathtaking and it is COLD! Sunnies are really helpful with the blinding snow. Something special to do would be to video call your loved ones and show them the Top of Europe ❤️
There are a couple of eateries and a variety of shops if you are looking for Swiss gifts and keepsakes. The Top of Europe pass entitles you to some discount here.
Opt for the gondolas as you head down to Grindelwald first where you can get a cuppa hot (Lindt) chocolate: it’s amazingly good! That was our ‘cherry on top’ to complete this unique adventure.
My #2023travelwish is to bring my friends on a trip to New Zealand’s South Island to explore the glaciers and look out for wild life.

Really amazing place! One of the best activities when we reached the summit of Jungfraujoch. Just the icy tunnels themselves are impressive and the large sculptures are very cool. #europetrip
Ice Palace is one of the must visit attractions when you are at Jungfraujoch. I’m from a tropical country, visiting a place sculpted from ice is very unique and special. It is a definitely an immersive experience inside a glacier. I’ll recommend you to wear something thicker as the temperature inside the Ice Palace is consistently cold. Inside the Ice Palace, there are a varieties of ice sculptures such as animal, piano and more. A visit to the Ice Palace is included with your Jungfraujoch tickets. The recommended best time to visit the Jungfraujoch will be between June and September.
Opening Hours: 7.30am - 3.30pm
Address: Jungfraujoch, 3823 Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland

In the majestic Swiss Alps, the family marveled at the ethereal beauty of the ice palace, its glistening walls adorned with intricate sculptures that seemed to sparkle under the soft glow of the lights. With each step through the frozen corridors, they felt a sense of wonderment, as if stepping into a fairy tale brought to life. Amidst the shimmering ice, laughter and whispers echoed, creating a magical ambiance that enveloped them in pure enchantment.

They envision immersing themselves in the rich culture, savoring authentic cuisine, and embarking on adventures that blend tradition with modernity, creating cherished memories to last a lifetime.

OUTDOOR - Bodmi Arena Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Don't rush! The Swiss snow season is super long! Recommended ski resorts for beginners
The enthusiasm for skiing from the Winter Olympics continues unabated, and the skiing season in Switzerland is very long, lasting from November to March or even April. It's really worth experiencing when traveling.
▫️ Switzerland is forever the moonlight in my heart. As a skiing beginner + tourist, the Bodmi ski resort in Grindelwald is definitely a good choice, suitable for everyone from beginners to pros. The scenery of the whole town is unbeatable, with beautiful snow-capped mountains and chalets, and a well-developed tourism industry (many places are too desolate to even find a convenience store).
▫️ Start by taking a small train from Interlaken to Grindelwald, which takes about half an hour. Then take bus 124 up the mountain to Das Bodmi station. The scenery along the way is super super beautiful, giving a truly peaceful feeling.
Most of the people on the bus are carrying ski gear, and the scene is quite spectacular. It seems that locals start off from home already wearing ski boots, and if you're afraid of getting lost, just following everyone else is fine~
▫️ There is no admission fee for the ski resort, and ski equipment can be rented. It is recommended to rent before taking the bus at the foot of the mountain, as it is more expensive on the mountain. You can also hire an instructor. At that time, we booked a ski package online, which included local instructor teaching by the hour~
