#Fufu Hakone Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
I have stayed here four times during my visits to Hakone, and it has been a wonderful experience
Hakone Fufu is where I chose to stay for my fourth visit to Hakone. I have previously stayed at Mizunoto, Setsugetsuka, and Kowakien Ten-yu. Here is my summary (with the years I stayed in parentheses):
Kowakien Ten-yu (2017) > Fufu (2023) > Setsugetsuka (2015) > Mizunoto (2014)
Today, I waited for over an hour at Gora Station, and the phone number on Fufu's official website was wrong. It was also a long wait for a taxi to arrive; I was quite desperate. I had contacted the hotel in advance to inquire about the shuttle bus, but the staff did not mention that the shuttle bus needed to be reserved in advance. That was really frustrating. Now, let me talk about the hotel itself. I booked the Deluxe Suite, and the room was quite new, with a nice private bath and a large balcony. There was an odd smell of disinfectant in the room, and I'm not sure if it was the smell of the hot springs. There are hardly any public areas, and the public hot spring was a disappointment. The public hot springs at other Hakone hot spring hotels I've stayed at were usually outdoor, but this one was more like an indoor spa that you might find in a city hotel, with only a small area. One night was enough; I originally booked two nights but luckily canceled one. After checking out: We booked a plan that included breakfast and dinner, and the meals were quite good. When we wanted to leave, we were told that it was impossible to get a taxi at that time. However, when we arrived at Gora Station, we found that there were actually plenty of taxis available. Overall, it was really good 😊🍎
And the food inside was overall very tasty 😊
