Stroll and Heal Your Soul at Jing Jai Gallery
If you're looking for a relaxed day to enjoy art that soothes the soul, I recommend visiting Jing Jai Gallery. It's located in the same area as Jing Jai Market. What I love about this place is that it features unique and innovative artworks by both local and international artists on a rotating basis. It stands out from other galleries in Chiang Mai by curating a diverse array of exhibitions. Some exhibitions make you feel good and offer a refreshing experience as you walk through. For art lovers or those who enjoy art exhibitions, Jing Jai Gallery is another gallery in Chiang Mai that should be on your list. Importantly, admission is free and it's open every day without holidays, from 08:00 to 17:00.

Must-visit market recommendations:
1️⃣Coconut Market 'Chiang Mai'
Opening hours: Saturday and Sunday 08:00-16:00
Features: Coconut groves, streams, and bamboo bridges are very photogenic, the market mainly offers snacks. I didn't go on a weekend, but walking around the coconut grove waterways was very pleasant, and key is that it's very convenient for taking photos!
2️⃣Jing Jai Market 'Chiang Mai'
Opening hours: Saturday and Sunday 07:00-13:00
Features: An artistic atmosphere market mainly for clothing and handicrafts, where you can find a lot of interesting handmade crafts.
3️⃣Bamboo Saturday Market 'Chiang Mai'
Opening hours: Saturday: 07:00-11:00
Features: Various fresh breads that are delicious and good-looking, plus super tempting handmade hot cocoa! Actually, this is a bakery that brought its bread to the market, but there's a great variety! The market is small, and you can finish browsing in half an hour!
4️⃣Baan Kang Wat 'Chiang Mai'
Opening hours: Open every day except Monday
Features: Mostly consists of handicraft shops and workshops of niche artists, the buildings in the village are also quite original. I absolutely love this shiny shell craft shop🎉.
5️⃣Tha Phae Gate Night Market 'Chiang Mai'
Opening hours: Saturday and Sunday 16:00-22:00
Features: The market stretches across the entire old city, mainly offering various distinctive snacks and Thai clothing, with very convenient transportation.
7️⃣Chiang Mai University Night Market 'Chiang Mai'
Opening hours: 17:00-22:00
Features: Perhaps because it's near Chiang Mai University, it's much cheaper than other markets. Compared to other night markets in Chiang Mai, this one has the most complete selection of snacks, a must-visit!
8️⃣Khlong Lat Mayom Floating Market 'Bangkok'
Although it's not as bustling as Thailand's 🇹🇭 most prosperous Damnoen Saduak. There are also super many snacks here, you must try the salt-grilled fish, the key is it's close to the center of Bangkok, only 20 kilometers away. A 30-minute taxi ride. BTS to Bang wa station
9️⃣ICONSIAM Siam Indoor Floating Market 'Bangkok'
I think for sisters who want to explore marketplaces during the day, this is a great place to come! It has air conditioning! This isn't a real floating market, it's an indoor food market with a water theme. I absolutely adore the big lamb bone hotpot here, it's a bit more expensive than other markets, after all, it's in a central shopping mall, and it has air conditioning. And you must try the AFTER YOU smoothie!

Exploring Jing Jai Market in Chiang Mai 🌿
#songkran2024 #thailandtrip
Jing Jai Market in Chiang Mai is a vibrant spot that captivates both locals and tourists with its blend of organic produce, artisan crafts, and delightful eateries. This charming market, located slightly north of the city center, offers a relaxed atmosphere that contrasts with the busier markets found downtown.
Getting There 🚗🚌
Jing Jai Market is accessible by tuk-tuk, songthaew, or taxi from the center of Chiang Mai. If you're comfortable navigating local transport, taking a songthaew can offer a more authentic experience and is generally more economical. For those driving, there is ample parking available as the market caters to a more local crowd.
Market Hours ⏰
The market operates in two segments: during the week it functions as a charming organic market while the weekends see it transform into a vibrant artisan market. Weekday hours are typically from early morning until 2 PM, ideal for morning strolls to enjoy fresh products. On weekends, the market opens around 6 AM and runs until 1 PM, but getting there early is advisable to avoid the crowds and heat.
What to Expect and How Long to Spend There 🛒🕒
Expect a plethora of stalls selling everything from organic vegetables and fruits to handmade jewelry and clothing. The market is also a great place to try local coffee and Thai street food, including vegan options. Plan to spend at least 1-2 hours here, browsing the stalls, sampling local foods, and soaking in the laid-back atmosphere. If you’re a fan of leisurely mornings or need to pick up unique gifts, you might find yourself lingering longer.
Practical Tips 💡
Bring cash: While more vendors are beginning to accept digital payments, cash is king at Jing Jai Market, and small bills are preferred.
Weather-preparedness: The market is partially outdoors, so wearing sunscreen and bringing a hat on sunny days, or a light raincoat during the rainy season, can enhance your comfort.
Sustainable shopping: Many vendors focus on sustainable and organic products. Bring your reusable bags to support this eco-friendly initiative.
Jing Jai Market is a must-visit for anyone looking to experience a more laid-back, local side of Chiang Mai shopping. Whether you’re there to grab fresh ingredients, pick up unique handicrafts, or just enjoy a good cup of coffee amidst pleasant surroundings, Jing Jai Market delivers a delightful experience.

Chiang Mai | The popular farmer's market J-J-Market (Sincere Market)
🚗 It is located away from the city center, on both sides of the road, bustling from morning till evening, it is the Chiang Mai Jing Jai Market.
🚗 Chiang Mai Jing Jai Market is located at No. 45, Patan Meng Street, Chiang Mai, Thailand, also known as JJ Market (Sincere Market), covering an area of 28 rai (about 70 acres), with more than 500 shops. It is designed as a community space, blending Lanna architecture and greenery. It is a project by the Central Group of Chiang Mai focused on creating shared value, aimed at establishing a thriving local community to foster a shared economy and social value. It provides a cooperative scene for local farmers, artists, and craftsmen to sell their products, while also building mutually beneficial relationships within the business and the expanded community.
🚗 Today, Jing Jai Market has become a must-visit market in Chiang Mai, allowing local businesses to earn sustainable income, while also promoting Chiang Mai products, food, and culture to attract local and international tourists. Many people describe it as a market where 'romantic scenery' coexists with 'grassroots charm'. Here, organic vegetables are sold alongside artistic performances and hand-dyed crafts; clothes are packed in kraft paper bags, and food is served on banana leaves. Everything here is very primitive, exuding the simple taste of Chiang Mai.

It is a lively spot where you can find lots of fresh produce and several vendors selling lots of delicious food and beverages. There are also many crafts stores and stalls selling second-hand stuff.
